About the Wicker Park thing... all I can say is... NO! I never saw that movie, but I heard enough about it to know that it's the type of movie that absolutely leaves me infuriated. I mean, the only thing that happens is that a bunch of characters keep trying at something and failing for as long as the story progresses, which, in my opinion gets old VERY quickly. (I also heard that in Wicker Park, they could've solved their problems right away by using that handy-dandy device known as a "cellphone.") As for Romeo and Juliet... er, I don't really like that idea, either. *Shrugs* I'm not much of a person for tragedy, as it is. (I'm a fat lot of help, ain't I? :P )
Because it's clunky. Seeing "NAME: (line description) line here" tends to pull you from the mystique of the story. (Which, on a sidenote, is why writing Genie can be so darned difficult -
tell
someone they're looking at Captain Picard, and you're going to make people realize that they're reading the story as opposed to being there.)
Compare the difference...
Aladdin brushed a stray hair from his face and beat a tattoo on the marble floor with his foot. "Why aren't they here yet?"
Jasmine glanced out the window. Several horsemen waited below; their horses stamping their feet impatiently. "They
are
here."
Aladdin (brushing a stray hair out of his face and tapping a tattoo on the marble floor with his foot)
Why aren't they here yet?
Jasmine (looking out the window and seeing several horsemen on impatient-looking horses)
They
are
here.

What I mean by putting songs is not writing the lyircs into them like have a soundtrack. I know that's too much work but if someone has lime wire, or napster or apple or ipod. They can get a grip of the mood that is set into or the feeling of the scenario. It would put my fanfic a interactive story. I just want to try something different to flourish me as a writer and do different types of writing.
But how's script writing can be annoying?
like ?
For example :
Aladdin and Jasmine were horseplaying on the beach. It was a beautiful day, the beautiful golden rays of the sun beated down on them, and the waves crashed in and out as it touched their feet. Aladdin gave Jasmine a piggyback ride and ran. They both smiled and Jasmine laughed hysterically and holding onto him tightly. Suddenly, Aladdin stopped and he had a change of face. Jasmine lifted her head and saw what Aladdin saw. He let Jasmine down.
There were two men all dressed in black looking and pointing at them from the little hill above.
Jasmine: ( with surprise) They found us.
The men in black started to move towards them.
Aladdin: (grabs Jasmine's hand) Let's go! (runs. He quickly scans for a possible escape, and all he sees is a boat a little off the pier and not to far off sea. They run towards the pier. He looks back and the men was trailing behind.)
Jasmine : (feels like a ragdoll being swung around by a little child) Where are we going ?
Aladdin : We are going to swim to that boat. ( he points to the boat.)
Jasmine: (starts to doubt) I don't know about this. I never swam at a such distance and the waves ?.
Aladdin : Trust me. (They ran to the end of the pier. The jump was a story high.)
or like this..
Jasmine: Hey
Aladdin: Hey
Jasmine: What are you doing?
Aladdin: Sleeping.

Absolutely not. Script-fics are just plain annoying.
As for song lyrics, those don't usually work out to well in written stories, either. You cannot convey the tunes, and without tunes it's just a poem. When you insert a poem into your story, you pretty much have to bring the story to a screeching halt whilst the reader reads your song/poem, which is not a good thing. Alternatively, if you try to intersperse actions in the lyrics, you end up with a mess that's just too wordy. (Just imagine trying to put the Friend Like Me sequence into written format without losing anything. You just can't do it without making it too clunky for the reader.)
Then you probably wouldn't want to read my fanfics.

Well, I was trying to (*points to end of page one*), but the rabid Mozeketeer hijacked the topic.

Anyway, Mariposa, I'm not sure how I could further help you. I suppose this would be a tacky time in which to plug my Aladdin Plot Generator, eh?

Well, I'd say it's a sabre that could cut your arm off if anybody got around to sharpening it. Still, even though the blade's dull, it could probably impale somebody pretty well, though. I will say this, though... that blade ain't
stainless
steel... nuh-uh.

I never had Mozenrath bound, silly girl. I mentioned that I had a crush on him. Still, it seems to me that you need to be stopped, so...

They actually sell those light sabres at the Disney Parks. Umm not those plastic ones that you fling out or the ones that can cut your arm off. It's a replica from the Star War movies. It's in the Star Tours store. You have to ask the Cast member for one. It cost a grip.
Oh, man, they had one in Sid Cahuenga's at Disney-MGM Studios, too. My roommate and I had so much fun posing with that thing!

I was going to to put Mozy as Tybalt for my R+J story into my adaptation.
It's fits him, " Look at my sword and look upon thy death.-- Peace? I hate the word. "
Girls fight over mozy. In my thread... Still I didn't help me on what should I do for my next fanfic.
Yeah, I can see him doing John Leguizamo's Tybalt, right down to pulling his guns out at a little kid and saying "Bang, Bang".
It wouldn't hurt to do an Aladdinized version of "R+J", but then you have to keep in mind of how to do it, whether it can be pulled off and in keeping cast of Aladdin in character.
I'm thinking of like how Suzo no Miko did her version of "PotC" or how I proposed to do "MacBeth" in the Plot Bunny Thread, have the Aladdin characters act it out in the context of them doing play, including the backstage action.
