I think that day when the board wasn't working, it had to be restored back to when it was last saved and that must have been before we made all those posts. I know I said a few things and they disappeared too.
It's a good thing my world domination plot disappeared during that time too

Yeah, I finally posted up my final chapter for my fanfic. It mysteriously disappeared today. I have to edit it all over again.

What happened to the posts that were yesterday? Did it mysteriosly disappeared? I do recall talking about the characters and the fact that I'm not an evil twin. I just get in trouble alot.

LOL!!! Who gets to be the evil twin?
I'm actually trying to get my mom to give me a trip to Tokyo Disneyland as a graduation present. She's not going for it so far.
When I came back to SoCal from WDW, I just remember walking down Main Street going, "Oh my god, everything's so SMALL."

OmG! I think that I have my twin or something. That's so funny. When I was there in WDW, I didn't see any hostess and you're were at Disneyland, you didn't see any of the hostess. I'm not complaining, I did it too. I would go before work or after work to play in the park. Lately thing have turn for the worse working at Disneyland. They are firing employees left and right and now they don't have much people on staff. Pretty soon they're going on strike. But I'm glad that I left but I miss it there so terribly.
Ha ha ha!
We BOTH risked out butt to go on rides when we worked for the Disney amusement park. I wanted to be a marine biologist and you worked at Sea World. Crazy ! It's like I'm in the twilight zone or something. I think Tokyo Disney Sea would be our dream to go there Mixed both worlds in one.
It was funny. When I looked at Main Street in Florida, I stood there. " It was like I'm standing at a parallel world. Comparing to my main street and your main street. I'm here but am I really here?"

Probably insulting them, like, you're a loser, it's for kids, or something.
I do hope they pay them well, cause you're right, it must be hard, not being able to go on the rides, having kids all climbing on you, in hot weather.
I don't think that you're able to go on rides while you work at the park.
That one time when they took the plush ears and rode on Splash because it's REALLY slow day. or a special party has happening. I don't think that they were insulting them to their face onstage. It's strictly unprofessional. Usually when these offenses happen is when these characters get abuse. Literally, get abuse.
Actually... *evil laugh* I used to use my lunch break to go on rides all the time, particularly at Disney-MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom (both of which were really laid-back).
Technically weren't supposed to, but it was really easy as a character to throw street clothes on over our "basics" and run out for a ride or two. At DAK, it was often watching Tarzan Rocks, or a ride on Primeval Whirl or Dinosaur. I even got in Kilimanjaro Safaris once. At Disney-MGM Studios, I tended to go play DDR on my lunch.
And it's not just limited to out-of-costume. As Muppets at the Studios once, we got bored at an early morning set and went into the Pizza Planet arcade. The game attendant gave us a crapload of tokens to go play games with the kids. Played DDR (dang, that's hard in Miss Piggy!
) and air hockey (we let the kids win... which is a lot easier said than done!) with the kids for the whole set.
And once at the Magic Kingdom, we ditched our set to go on the Teacups in costume as the Tweedles.
Bottom line: no, you technically
can't
go on rides... but if you're willing to risk it...
There were management-sanctioned rides, though. First thing in the morning, the Pooh characters would go on Winnie the Pooh with the first family in line. The last set of the evening in Toontown, Goofy would go on the Barnstormer with a family. If Pluto kissed up to the Toontown manager, he could usually go too.
Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie used to ride the Magic Carpets a lot in the morning, too. Those were all pre-okayed by management.

Heh... not really... we got paid $6.15 at WDW, as College Program characters.
It's a supply and demand thing - lots of people want to be characters, so they can afford to pay them less and still attract applicants. There is an extra premium for show shifts or face shifts.
As far as our thoughts go - personally, I loved it when adults came up! Especially if they were the "big kid" kind of adult. They were fun!
There's a lot of jerks out there too, though. And the characters DO notice them. We try as best we can to "ignore" the jerks to get them to leave (especially if they're ruining the experience for other guests!) but there's only so much you can do without your greeter stepping in. Rest assured, though, that we do discuss things after a set. The total jerks get ranted about in very un-Disney language... but at the same time, we also go back and gush over the really adorable kids.

They did have guards at the Aladdin parade years ago. There's guards at the Musical Spectacular. No Rasoul. They should have.

Honestly, I do understand why. Sometimes standing out there can be overwhelming and it's hard to get to one place to another with people and children coming at you. That's why Disneyland has hostess to tell the guest that where the character is going and control the guests. I don't recall seeing any hostess around in WDW. Ask Kristin. She'll tell you.
Usually it's the guest that does the stupid stuff. They practically leave their brains at the gate. Look at all the incidents, it's out of the guests stupidity. They really don't think of safety.
I'm constantly surprised at how
few
character hosts and hostesses Disneyland has!
At WDW, the ratio of characters to greeters was almost 1:1 (with the exception of small, mildly unpopular groups like the Country Bears, Tweedles, etc). When the Fab Five were involved, it WAS 1:1. In fact, I know a number of characters who refused to go out on set if they didn't have their own greeter, for safety reasons. Also, at WDW, the greeters are actively involved in forming lines. Many times at DL, I don't see a greeter at all!
And from experience,
those
are the times you really get into trouble. The two times that I got hit the worst were both when a greeter was out of sight.
