Yes, but the point is that because of this deal Jobs has a seat on the Disney board now. |

No. He's got Apple Computer. BTW, it was George Lucas who founded Pixar and sold it to Steve Jobs in 1986. This info can be found on Disc 4 of the Star Wars trilogy DVD set. |

This definitely gives me hope! The thought of Lasseter in charge of both Animation and Imagineering tickles me pink! And I love his comments on sequels - that is basically what Walt used to argue! If a sequel is relaly worth doing, it's worth doing to the best Feature Animation standards. THAT is what Disney's whole image has been based on historically. |

C) Glenn and Andreas are still there so there might be a little pitsy hope.
How knows maybe they're rehired in the future, an a freelance basis perhaps. |

So, if we wanted an Aladdin sequel, Ron and John would have to do it! Yay!
...but since we A.) Have more than just them as important writers to our fandom (cause I consider the series writers important too since they know all the characterization inbetween) and B.) have Ron and John no longer there, I doubt we'd get any more. Yay? |

"They said that sequels should only be made if there is a really great story that demands it, and should be the domain of those who created the original film."
Wow, there is hope, it seems. |

Could this mean the end of no more crummy sequels?
Which is funny because they were just now starting to get good again |

Does this mean that 2D animation will be extinct for good? |
My theory has been that they'll make several computer animated movies that don't do well because they're still using crappy stories and then someone will go "Oh . . . wasn't the animation" and figure out what they need to fix. Don't know how this merger has the potential to affect things, though. |

I don't know about this...do you think maybe they're giving Jobs too much power?
Well, I clicked on Calluna's link and found another link about Bugs vs Antz.
I was very surprised. I liked both movies but back then I was too young to know about the scandoulous betrayals of companies...so I still don't quite get it. Did Katzenberg really betray Disney-Pixar? And where were the litigations? |

There's a thought...
Still, with Pixar added to their armory and Eisner out of the seat, maybe they'll stop churning out the junk. |
