Heeee! Great idea for a thread!! :D Here's a post I made in my LJ back in early 2003... it's a "Kirsten at work" post! :D "I had THE best day ever. I was supposed to be Adventureland Rafiki, which had me all psyched, but I got to work and they told me my area was down for the day because of rain and did I want an ER? Well, I've taken 2 or 3 ERs this week, so I couldn't afford it. So after wandering around for about an hour, they sent me to go do menial tasks in Costuming all day. I didn't mind though, cause one of my roommates, Meg, was there too, so we had fun. We were matching up gloves and shoe covers and stuff. We had a competition going to see who could find the most matches, but we lost track. Who knows who won, but we had fun. :P Then they sent us both to Adventureland to do random characters - I did Prince John! Fuuuuuuuun! :P I got to be a villain, and that was cool. :P The best part was yet to come, though. See, my greeter was sort of... bored with the way things were going, so we decided to do a set where we just ran around. So we came up with a storyline to follow. Since Robin Hood took all Prince John's jewels, we wandered around the land looking for Prince John's missing rings. We pestered Aladdin and Jasmine and Genie and the attractions people and dozens of guests. Basically just goofed off. Well, my greeter goes, "Hey, go scare that Guest Relations guy!" So, thinking it'd be really funny, I ran up behind him and scared him (he seemed to know I was coming, but that's not the point) Anyways, I look to see who was sitting next to him as I pass by. It was frickin' GARY SCHANDLING. He gave me this look like, "What crack are you on?" :P Scared the crap outta me, and I know we're not supposed to pester celebrities so I kept on walking by like I didn't see him. Well, I heard him ask a question to the Guest Relations guy, and it made me wanna yell at him, but since he's a guest I'll forgive him. ("Can you tell who it is in the costume?" D'oh!) Anyways, I went on greeting guests and such, and I guess while I was doing that Gary Schandling was asking the Guest Relations guy about me, then went out of his way to tell my greeter that he thought I was really cool. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I didn't find out about any of that til after the set when my greeter told me. I was sooo pyshced up after that. :P Anyways, after skipping like 2 sets cause my greeter didn't feel like going out (LMAO!!!!!) Meg and I went over to EPCOT to see the final pass of Tapestry of Dreams. OH. MY. GOD. Bist....pirformince...iver. Basically, it was half Entertainment Cast Members there. All the performers were REALLY into it of course. I'm so glad I video taped it. One of the drummers was cracking us all up, cause whenever she had a break in the music, she'd put down the drumsticks, grab her camera, and be taking pictures of the performers around her and the crowd and such. It was great! We purposely sat right near the end of the parade route, so everyone was screaming and cheering as they finished the pass. When the last float passed us, we joined a huge mass of CMs following the parade to the end, carrying "Dream On" and "Goodbye Tap" signs. Everyone was clapping and singing along and dancing as best they could in the mob. :P Y'know that little bit at the end ("May your journeys forever be laden with peace..." etc.)??? Well, you couldn't even hear the sound. There was SO much screaming and cheering by all the Cast Members crowded around. I think most of the guests were weirded out by us, but that's okay, cause it was AWESOME. They were letting all the Cast Members backstage to see the performers, so everyone flooded back there. We went to go see a friend of one of my old roommates who was supposed to perform tonight, but on the first pass he hurt himself and couldn't do the second one. Anyways, he climbed up on one of the trailers and told everyone that he was glad he got hurt cause it meant he got to see the most beautiful parade ever. And of course that got everyone crying again. VERY beautiful, all of it. :)"
I'm not sure if Disneyland (california) has a villain store, but Disney World (florida) does.
And the Aladdin characters are in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom and Morrocco in Epcot

I have only been to Disney World twice. The one in Florida. Is this place you are referring me to in Florida or California? I want to go to the California one because I once saw an ad for it that showed the Aladdin musical thingy [with a very cool-looking Jafar] but so far I've only visited the one in Florida. I was annoyed at my most recent trip to the magic kingdom, couldn't find any Aladdin characters, not even Aladdin, especially not Jafar, but I got a Disney villain shirt for ten bucks at a Disney outlet and it had all of them on it even Yzma!! [This is a little strange but Yzma is my favorite female Disney villain, she's not as powerful or frightening as say Maleficent but she's hilarious.] I tell people I have a Disney villain collection but knowing me it's really a Jafar collection.

Oh, you want to go in Villains in Vogue, at least. Disgusting lack of Jafar *merchandise* (though you can by artist sketches of him and other villains there for around $30/$35, and that's a nice souvenir!), BUT! There's a big candy tree that has snake!Jafar's head on the top and there are images of a few villains' images around top of the walls, and Jafar is one. I took a few pictures. Not much stuff, but he's in the decor twice, so that's something, right?
There were a few Jafar pins when I was there on the CP; one was him holding the lamp and there were flames flowing from behind him that formed his Cobra self, 2 different ones that featured male villains and remembered him, and one with Aladdin and Jasmine running, and behind them is a shadow shaped like Jafar. Don't know which are still available; they changed the pin selection sort of randomly at times. But I always keep an eye out at a Disney park.

Hi, this is DP saying that both of the above posts were me; it's not registering me saying "KEEP ME LOGGED IN." But this computer has issues.
There is a whole store dedicated to the villains and I *had* to check it out. A whole Disney villains store!!...and not one item for Jafar. How messed up is that? He had a picture on the wall, but that was it. No merchandise. Me=sad panda. My Jafar collection of memorbilia is soo tiny and now I see why. But that's totally ok cause I got that Jafar beanie at Walmart earlier so I did get *something*. Take that Villain store!
.
I know, I went to Disney last October, and Jafar stuff was nowhere to be found. Except for one little pin in the Agrabah Bazaar in the Magic Kingdom. Admittedly I did not go to the villain store but you seem to indicate I can skip it.

I think I figured out why they make Aladdin wear a shirt.
So rabid fangirls can't run out and scream "THAT'S NOT THE REAL ALADDIN! THE REAL ALADDIN DOESN'T HAVE NIPPLES!"
Yep, that's the answer. Gotta be.
That's...probably a valid argument. Why IS it that Al has no nipples, but Quasimodo, Hercules (right?), and Tarzan do?
Not that I'm complaining; Al is fine JUST the way he is.

I never actually WILL test this...that'd be a surefire way to get thrown out of the parks, and I think that might kill me. But a girl can dream, right?
....don't get me started
I know I do

Here's another one of Al and Jas in winter cloaks...
I'm the one on the far left...Jasmine gave me special permission to be next to Aladdin. (She was such an awesome Jasmine...)
And yes, Aladdin has a little bit of a funny look on his face...my camera wasn't taking and he was about to ask me if I knew any secrets to get it to work, and CLICK. We did get another one where he looks less stunned, but I don't have it saved on my computer yet.
