It's not that sequels can't be done well - because they can.  For example, [i]Toy Story 2[/i] was excellent, in my opinion.  No cheap, dime-a-dozen plot was tossed onto the characters; rather, it was done with the same quality as the first movie.  Also, while [i]Aladdin and the King of Thieves[/i] didn't have the visual quality of the first movie, I enjoyed it very much.

And on a sidenote, I know of some people who liked [i]Inspector Gadget 2[/i] much more than the first one, as IG2 was to them what the first one [i]should[/i] have been.[/quote]
