If Disney made The Odyssey... oh, I hate to think how Janette would react. Probably insist they cast Kevin Costner.
I started reading The Odessey, and that's exactly who I imagined in the role. (I really need to get back to that... it's definitely better than Battlestar: Galactica.)

I can see T.O. being made into a 'treasure island gone treasure planet'.
Hmm... not good. There's already a movie called "A Space Odyssey".
But Circe? W00t. I mean, Circe r0xx0rz. There's just no other way to see it. Forget Disney, take this film to Dreamworks, and GET MICHELLE PFEIFFER! She was awesome as Eris -- mmm... the Circe-ness. Michelle Pheiffer and Kevin Costner... wow.
(Kevin Costner = twice as awesome as Brad Pitt. Any day.)

Um... no, no per se...
Though, that wouldn't be too bad. Mua.
But seriously, the last thing I'd want to see are my characters and whatnot exploited on cereal boxes, bad Disney Adventure comics, El Cheapo Halloween costumes, and TV ads that completely misrepresent the story and/or the characters' personalities.
Dolls and/or action figures I wouldn't mind, but the other stuff... bleeeargh.
Oh, I see. You want to have creative control so they don't do anything stupid like sequels without your input.
It would be hard to market some characters without drastically changing their personalities, especially when one of the heroes is a cross-dresser.

If I were to take any of my ideas to anyone, I don't think Disney would be on the top of my choice list.

I want to write for Disney. I got some stories that could be made into decent movies.
I just have to write them down.

Which Witch?
by Eva Ibbotson- This is actually a children's book. I heard that Disney was planning on a movie, or at least one with the same title, but nothing is official yet. For those who have not read it, it's the story of a good witch that enters a contest in order to marry a powerful wizard. The problem is that the contest involves black magic! It's good book to read while you're waiting for the next Harry Potter.
That would own the world! I love that book and have read it at least ten times! If done right, a movie about it could be one of the greatest things ever. Eva Ibbotson has some other good books that could be used, too.
Personally, I'd love to see Disney make something based on Astrid Lindgren's work. For those who don't know her, she was a Swedish author who wrote a lot for children. Among my favourites are
Mio, My Son
and
The Brothers Lionheart
. Both are fantasy stories for children. The latter tells about two brothers who die and travel to another world where they have great adventures.
She also has some fabulous short stories that would make wonderful movie adaptations. There's one about a boy who got sick and can never walk again and how a strange man comes to take him away to an imaginary world every evening. It's a little like
Alice in the Wonderland
, though. Then there's this story about a girl who has a secret twin in another world. It's quite a sad story.
Oh, and don't forget
Ronia, the Robber's Daughter!
Ronia lives in a castle in a forest with a band of robbers. She makes friends with Birk who is the son of another robber chieftain. Unfortunately, the bands are bitter enemies and Ronia and Birk have to learn a lot about life, love, friendship and fear. It has fantasy elements in it too, especially in the form of these bird creatures that haunt the forest. It's one of the best books I've ever read and it would be absolutely brilliant as a well-done Disney movie.

Not after the way he butchered Robin Hood! *shudders* (No offense to those that liked that version.)
Besides, I thought we were talking about
animated
movie ideas.

Original stories never hurt, but those seem to be in short supply these days. Besides, all its other ideas came from books/stories/old folktales
Aladdin
,
The Little Mermaid
,
Beauty and the Beast
). It would at least be a good place to start.

ZOMG! what?
There are alot of direct dvd sequels. Alot of them, I actully enjoy. But yes, it would be nice to see some come to theaters
I can see T.O. being made into a 'treasure island gone treasure planet'. Not something I want to see. Also, I want to see ORIGINALS! Yeah, the fairy tails are fun, I love them to death, but I would like to see something new and different.
On the subject of 'Which Witch' I do NOT want to see an animated version. It was a good idea, but it's not something I would go and see.
HARRYPOTTER? You know HP is all about alchemists right?
I would have so much more respect for Disney if they didn't take their plots off shelves. Don't get me wrong. Disney is one of my favorite animation companies, but I'd like some new stories. Not something that was required reading in middle school.

I know that they did "Sword in the Stone"
but maybe King Arthur in his later years like when he meets Gwen and when he formed the roundtable. Yeah I know the story is adult but disney can twist it around. Because there's magic, teamwork, princesses, and knights.
