Anyway, thank you all. Though I doubt I shall be inclined to consume much alcohol - I love my brain! I wouldn't want to do anything to hurt it!

Nah, sometimes it's fun to see people not get something.

Indeed, 'tis a real conversation. Said cousin of mine can be particularly dense.

lol at your IM conversation
Did the person you were IMing really not get the joke?
Oh, yeah, and happy almost birthday!
Hey, 21 isn't that old. Turning 21 should be great. Think of all the things you could do! You can legally drink alcohol! And you can....well....I mean, you can totally...well, that's about it.

Ok, that whole conversation actually took a couple minutes to register. Ever experience that? Where you have no clue what a person is talking about, then suddenly it clicks?
And twenty-one isn't old. By saying so, that makes me ancient.

Post subject: Happy birthday to me. :P
Yes, on November 15th, I turn twenty-one. Whee.
It seems my cousin is having difficultly adjusting to this new reality. *bursts into hysterical laughter*
[10:35] <Rys> The sad thing is that you're older than (username removed).
[10:36] <Syera> And? But? So? Therefore?
[10:38] <Rys> Nvm...
[10:38] <Syera> I've
always
been older than Mike.
[10:39] <Rys> I know... *shivers* It's... just... your so old...
[10:39] <Syera> The princess
will
marry me!
[10:40] <Rys> A PRINCESS?!
[10:42] <Syera> That's what I said, right?
[10:43] <Rys> Why do you want a PRINCESS to marry you?
[10:44] <Syera> Because I'm SO OLD!
[10:45] <Rys> Um... so you want to marry another female?
[10:46] <Syera> Eh, never mind.
[10:46] <Rys> You typed PRINCESS, not PRINCES.
[10:46] <Syera> I know what I typed.
[10:47] <Rys> That's... just... wrong... Syera...
[10:47] <Syera> It's a reference to an old movie.
[10:48] <Rys> Which one?
[10:49] <Syera>
