I think there are a few weak plot points. Like why the hell didn't the bandits see that Jasmine was a snake thing?
And what are they even doing there if this is a road that hasn't been used in hundreds of years? There wouldn't be anyone to rob.
Which Way Did She Go is a good episode, too but for me it's a bit of a wall banger to see Aladdin acting that way. I mean, I got his behavior in Garden of Eden. He has no reason to think Arbutus is anything but the bad guy. And you can also use the "love makes you blind" defense, since he was out to save Jasmine, but his actions in WWDSG just makes me facepalm.
It makes a little more sense taken in context with the other Sadira episodes. Sadira's done the pretend-to-be-Aladdin's-friend-while-secretly-plotting-to-make-him-love-her thing before, way back in her first episode. From how Genie talks in WWDSG she sounds like she's tried to get Aladdin quite a few other times that we never saw an episode of, and she must have pretended to turn good again at least one other time if Aladdin trusts her enough to go visit her home and drink her pomegranate juice. So now we're at the end of Dune Quixote. Iago probably caught up to Aladdin and told him what happened, and if he didn't Jasmine did. (I checked the transcript, she said she would!) Imagine him hearing about all the stuff he did while he thought he was Dragonslayer; that would have to be embarrassing! And Sadira never even apologized to Aladdin for that; she only apologized to Jasmine! Not to mention that because he was brainwashed he missed Sadira working together with the rest of the gang and proving herself to them. He doesn't know that this is different from the other times Sadira's claimed to have changed. So maybe this was just the last straw for Aladdin and he decided never to trust Sadira again... bad timing! Genie and Iago have no excuse for not trusting her, though. They were right there with Sadira and Jasmine all through "Dune Quixote".
I know Mozenrath is big fangirl bait and all that, but I never thought it was hot, I always thought he was creepy.
To me it was very dependant on the animation quality. Some studios made him look attractive to me and others did not. He was pretty ugly in "Dagger Rock", IMO.
My favorite is in "Heads, You Lose."
Aladdin is juggling his own head, and Genie says, "I taught him that trick when we first met"

Hi fellow Aladdin-philes,
Has anyone else noticed that in each episode of the TV series, that there's at least one allusion/reference to the movie? Since I saw a reference in one episode, I kept an eye out in subsequent eps, and it seems to be the case. Like the last ep I watched, the one where the Sultan wears the suit and becomes superstrong, at one point Carpet gets stuck under a huge boulder and strains to get out, just like the part in the movie in the cave where the rocks come tumbling down and traps Carpet. It's often just a snippet, a small moment, but it makes you smile when you see it b/c you immediately think of the same moment in the movie. Just thought I'd share and see if others noticed this too-- makes watching the series that much more enjoyable!

After reading people's posts, looking around the web, and thinking about other episodes I like I made a list of episodes that I think could go on the list. It's longish right now, but I mean to narrow it down to five, seeing as I have six chosen already.
A Sultan Worth His Salt
Shadow of A Doubt
Smolder And Wiser
Strike up the Sand
Riders of Redux
The Ethereal
While the City Snoozes
SandSwitch
Raiders Of The Lost Shark
Forget Me Lots
My Fair Aladdin
The Flawed Couple
Some Enchanted Genie
Elemental, My Dear Jasmine
Moonlight Madness
The Wind Jackals of Mozenrath
Lost and Founded
Vocal Hero
The Return Of Malcho
Two To Tangle
I put these on the list because I think they're funny, creative, and/or has great character development, but I started this project wanting other people's input. And the six episodes I chose already are highly regarded, so please pick as many of these as you like and tell me why you think they should be counted among the best, or why they shouldn't.

I'm not sure I'd say Sadira's episodes are the best of the series, but I do think she got one of the better arcs.

Hi, I'm not dead! I sorta forgot about this, I'm a bad fan, but I remembered, so I redeem myself, anyway, here's the episodes I know will go on the list so far:
Garden of Evil - This might go in the #1 spot. This episode might be the best executed. It features an anti-villain, makes Aladdin look less than heroic, and its message is both blunt and subtle. The "environment good" is the blunt one, the "people who are pushed to extreme ends can be empathized with" is the subtle.
Dune Quixote - This episode is brilliantly funny, so much love.
The Secret at Danger Rock - Classic!
When Chaos Comes a Calling - I gave the reasons for loving this episode before, so I won't repeat.
Seems Like Old Crimes Part 2 - A tale of love, redemption, and learning from your past. "The past can't change, but we can" indeed.
The Lost Ones - Again, no need to repeat.
Eye of the Beholder - Despite my problems with it, how can I not put this on the list.
So that leaves five more spots open, what should go there?
Also, someone else made a bit of a list about the Aladdin episodes, what do you think of his opinion?

I agree with the Sadira thing..I do think he overreacted a little. I was surprised at how easily Jasmine forgave Sadira, too, but I guess it wasn't hard for them to find common ground.
I always got the vibe that the reason why Jasmine let Sadira get away with alot, and always forgave her so easily is because:
1. It's implied that Sadira is maybe a year or two younger than Jasmine. Given Sadira's young age & immaturity, Jasmine had the wisdom to see that Sadira was just acting childish rather than "evil". Jasmine could see that Sadira was just young, misguided, immature, & foolish and as good as said so in "Strike Up The Sand" when she said to Sadira: "Sadira, don't be a fool! You can't force Aladdin to love you."
2. For the most part Jasmine's secure in her relationship with Aladdin. I say "for the most part" because episodes like "Eye of the Beholder", "Forget Me Not", & a few other ones that I'm forgetting at the moment prove otherwise. Besides those extremely few times, 99% of the time Jasmine is secure in her relationship with Aladdin, so she was never really threatened by Sadira.
3. I get the vibe that for the longest time Jasmine must've wanted some female companionship in her life. Her mother's dead, and all of her friends are guys. Sure she loves her father, Aladdin, and the rest of her friends, but she must've longed for a female friend who she can relate to. I think that when she first met Sadira in "Strike Up The Sand", and Aladdin had introduced Sadira to Jasmine as a new friend of the gang that Jasmine must've been thrilled and finally saw the opportunity to have that female friend in her life to fill in that void of her life.
Reason #3 is the reason why I think Jasmine always forgives Sadira
the most

Kind of off the topic but related... when the series first came out, it was only available on the Disney channel which required subscription at the time. I think this is why many people don't remember it vs. cartoons they grew up watching on basic cable.
No it wasn't! The series (at least in America) was available on basic television. My Grandmother didn't have cable TV, she had the ol' rabbit ears/antenna basic television, and me & my younger brother were still able to watch the series when we came home to Grandma's house from school due to the series being available on the channel "The WB". In fact - the entire Disney Afternoon block was on the channel "The WB". Aladdin didn't come to basic cable on the Disney Channel (again speaking only in America) until September 1997, and then later on in April 1998 it came on Toon Disney when that channel was launched for Satellite dish subscribers.

I was able to watch the episode! When I tried it again later on, Gorilla Vids showed up. I like Heads, You Lose b/c to me it's a good lesson for life-- that you need both a good head on your shoulders and to be physically in shape to get the most out of life. Anyone else like this ep? I'll watch more eps and tell you all what I think!

I see that GorillaVid DOES supply that episode!
I generally avoid anything that requires logging in or downloading because sometimes they come with extra "Baggage"

Thanks AG! I just watched a couple of episodes last night, Garden of Evil was pretty good! It was odd, seeing Jasmine seemingly successfully "wooed" by a person other than Aladdin; at some points I was thinking to myself, gee she might just fall for this guy!?! Unfortunately I was apprehensive about playing the episode "Heads you lose" b/c only veehd seemed to provide the episode but required a codec to watch (I had been using gorillavids before that). Anyone have thoughts/recommendations with veehd? Thanks gang!
Aladdinly yours,
Dustin

Hey, Dustin. I sent you a private message regarding watching the episodes.
If you want to look for specific episodes, I would suggest looking at the synopses on this page:
http://aladdincentral.org/transcripts/index.html
It sounds like you are talking about "Heads, You Lose" and episodes with Prince Uncouthma and Mechanikles.

Post subject: Some Favorite Episodes of Aladdin the Animated Series
Hi Everyone,
My name is Dustin, and I'm an Aladdin aficionado. I have numerous Disney movies that are darlings to me, but Aladdin is tops, since his life mirrors mine in many ways. Thanks for this forum and for having me!
As for this topic, I haven't seen all the episodes. I'm actually trying to watch them all these days (does anyone know of a good place btw? I used to have them on YouTube, but they've been falling away recently). So but from the episodes I have seen, I most enjoyed the episode where Aladdin's head and body were separated and had to find its way back to each other (I don't recall ep names! Yes, I'm a newbie at this...). I also like the episodes involving those vikings (or perhaps generally nordic people), I particularly remember the one where they bounce to and fro places (or was it get catapulted?). Then the Mechanicles guy, he always seems to have outrageous inventions. Sorry, this isn't the most nuanced or in-depth post, I know. Reading all your posts were interesting, I'll watch more episodes and try to get to that point too!
Thanks, and thanks for this great place for Aladdin nuts like myself!
Dustin

Here’s a few of mine:
1. Eye of the Beholder - Really touching episode and I thought it was well-carried out. Although the ending irks me mainly because I keep wondering if Phasir and Mirage had some sort of relationship in the past. I wished they elaborated more on that.
2. The Ethereal - Probably the darkest Aladdin episode. Having some witch-thing threatening to wipe out your city is stressful enough and then Jasmine
died
. o_o Thank goodness the ethereal changed her mind, otherwise that would be some ending to the Aladdin saga.
3. Witch Way Did She Go - Another favorite. I felt bad for Sadira because of the way Aladdin and his friends treated her (though you can’t really blame them for acting the way they did), but she managed to win their trust and become a hero. I know it’s been said before, but I’ll say it again: I hope Sadira finds a hero of her own. She deserves it.
4. The Great Rift - I don’t really have much to say about this episode. I just like it.
5. Forget Me Lots - Besides Jasmine turning all evil, I always like to see Abis Mal and Haroud.
6. Garden of Evil
I have a few others, but I forgot the names. ^^;
