Yeah, for some reason I imagined I had seen the peacock outfit included in a set of Jasmine's outfits that you could change the included Jasmine doll with. Included were her common outfits of pink, white, blue, and I think, red? It was a pretty neat set, I saw it the last time I was at Disney, about a month ago. Thinking hard on it now, the peacock outfit definitely wasn't included in the set like I had imagined it was for a second. Sorry, I did not buy it, or take a picture of it. I do wonder though, if the picture of Peacock Jasmine drawn in the Art of Disney Princess Book was itself inspired from the artist seeing Jasmine dressed as such in the "More than a Peacock Princess" episode? I just imagine it would be highly coincidental, (but not impossible) for the artist to be inspired, for whatever reason, to draw Jasmine in a Peacock dress totally independent of having seen her clad as such in the episode on the Princess DVD. However, I don't have a screenshot of Jasmine from the episode to compare how closely the drawing of Peacock Jasmine resembles the animated Peacock Jasmine; therefore this could be purely hypothetical speculation. EDIT: I just looked at a sample video from the Disney DVD website, and the "More than a Peacock Princess" Jasmine looks significantly different that the drawn Peacock Jasmine featured in the Art of Disney Princess Book. That doesn't necessarily mean that the former did not or could not have inspired the latter. I guess we'll never know for certain either way... Sorry for the drawn out post, I was just trying to articulate my disorganized thoughts into a sequence that would make sense for an intelligent discussion.
Yeah, that's the set I had seen, and was thinking of. Jasmine definitely doesn't need to do any peacocking for fertility attention; her figure is quite alluring as it is when she is dressed in her usual blue outfit.
Personally, I think the Peacock outfit Jasmine is wearing in the sketch more closely resembles something she would actually wear, as opposed to the flamboyant version she despised wearing during the portrait painting in the "More than a Peacock Princess" episode.

Oh, you mean the wardrobe set? I have that!:

It's possible! I mean, the story does pre-date, at least, the publishing of the drawing. They seem to be big on pushing the peacock imagery with Jasmine, which doesn't quite make sense as those are the males with the showy feathers and they're doing it for mating purposes. She DOESN'T want to bring attention to herself for mating purposes

Thanks for keeping me on my toes, I thought I missed a doll for a second there
It's a gorgeous, gorgeus book filled with artwork of the Disney Princesses that you can read more about here:

I'm getting all my shit mixed up here, thanks for clarifying AG. I have no idea what dolls I was imagining of in my mind, however, that's definitely the picture that inspired the cosplay I was thinking of.
What is this Art of Disney Princess Book this picture is contained in?

What Jasmine peacock princess dolls?
And the cosplay was inspired by this picture from the Art of Disney Princess book:

Personally,I just thought it was interesting that it was an episode w/o Aladdin (there's only one other w/o him, right?), and centered entirely around Jasmine's perspective on things.
I guess considering that it was made so much later than the rest of the series, its kind of cool (to me) that they were able to bring Larkin and Gottfried back to narrate Jasmine and Iago's voices, and that the animation style (to me, I'm not an expert on this stuff) seemed fairly consistent with the rest of the TV series. In my opinion, Jasmine seemed more OOC when she feigned interest in Prince Uncouthma to make Aladdin jealous than she was in this "episode"
This may be a dumb question, but was Jasmine's peacock outfit from this episode what inspired the Jasmine peacock princess dolls, as well as the cosplay that I saw on DeviantArt linked to from a thread over here?

Yup, it was definitely NOT part of the series. It was only created about 3 years ago. I also try to forget it exists.
It's just so out of character for Jasmine and Iago.

Yeah, it was created for the (very) short lived Princess Enchanted Tales DVD series.

Post subject: More Than a Peacock Princess
Was the episode "More than a Peacock Princess" that was featured on the Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams DVD created just for the DVD? I don't recall ever seeing this episode outside of the DVD, or seeing it on the episode lists/transcript pages for that matter.
