I don't blame him. If I had a son like that, I'd also love him to death. |

I don't mind Cassim, either.
But I think I'd rather have seen Aladdin's mother... it would've been closer to the actual story... |

Yes, it is. Maybe not in Aladdin fanfiction, but I've seen it plenty of times in other fandoms. Or roleplays. I used to run a few. And people would be all, "Can I be so and so who was such and such's long-lost sister/cousin that they never even thought of in the show?" And I once read part of a fic where Jasmine suddenly had a sister, and Mozenrath had a brother.

Well, I'm a bit more forgiving of Cassim than I am of long-lost sisters of Jasmine. The probability is a lot higher of a poor street kid's father having run out on him than of there being a random princess we've never heard of. Especially if it's an older sister, since her husband would be heir to the throne rather than Aladdin... |
Yeah, the Aladdin's father thing was very well done and believable. An older sister would just unravel the very fabric of the Aladdin universe.

I've created only one character... He's Aladdin's cousin, a prince in another city, and a good friend of Mozenrath's. He looks other ways just like Aladdin, but he has long brown hair. I will never publish the story thought. |
in the Aladdin comic book and he had an uncle that looks just like him but only with a barbershop mustache and he was too up to no good. |
Although I loved KOT, I don't usually care for the plots where family members come out of nowhere. It happens too much in fanfiction.

No, it's not in fanfiction. But i see what you mean. From an actual comic book that Marvel did for Disney. It's probably here in the archives too. |
