| I have three theories, and they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive:
1. He has some kind of soft spot for him/knows he is doomed without his guidance. Maybe they have some kind of history. Maybe Abis Mal saved him from death or a crueler master (even if inadvertently, as most of his triumphs are). 2. Along the same lines as the life-saving theory, maybe owes him some kind of debt. 3. This is probably my #1 theory. It seems that Abis Mal always seems to know about all of these crazy powerful spells and relics etc. that absolutely nobody else seems to know a thing about. I'm thinking maybe Haroud realizes that, although he is an idiot, he could possibly be a means to glory. |
