Attention all Aladdin fanfic writers! What inspires you to get all your ideas for your Aladdin fanfics?
For example:
I use my 1992 Aladdin dolls ( my muses) to help me create new stories and plots.

I think about all the adventures that I'd like to have, and what I would want my romance to be like... that's how I get my inspiration. It's all stories that I make up in my mind and then put to Aladdin and Jasmine.

I don't do much writing except for RPG's, but for those I usually look at this ROJ poster I have on the back of my wall. I'm not really sure why, but it helps me think of the characters.

As for drawing, I have a wall-o-inspiration which is nothing but the sketches the animators drew for the gift set for the DVD. It gives me the inspiration that "You'll never be this good, but you can try." Laughing

Like AG, the only writing I do is for rp stuff. And the characters just talk to me in my head and tell me what to say, so it's really no work for me. Laughing

J/K But I really do use the "can I hear them say it" test.

And I inspire myself for my drawings. Wink

The "If I Can't Hear Them Saying It In My Head" test needs to be learned by all. If you can't hear them saying it...DON'T SAY IT!! Mad

...unless you hear voices in your head all the time. Then that's just plain weird. Laughing

For my first fanfic, I just thought "What would it be like if Iago suddenly showed up in my room? What would I do and say, and what would he be like?" And then I just wrote it down.

The idea for "The Search For Cassim" suddenly popped up in my mind. One day, I heard Iago say "I don't like it in here, Cassim" and saw this image of a shabby, dark tavern in my mind, and it wouldn't leave me! Laughing

After a while, I wrote it down and so started writing the story and developing it. So you could say I had a voice in my head telling me to do it. Shocked

For inspiration for certain scenes in my stories, I sometimes look at other fanfiction to get a feeling for the atmosphere, or I look at the series and movies...

I peruse other stories and movies, ask myself questions, draw. Also, I check what fanfic stories HAVEN'T been done.

Yeah, I do that too. I research old fairy tales,movies, other fanfics, and world history. Music helps me whenever I'm in a block.

Nez, where do you get those awesome avatars. Yours is so cute ( the one with Jasmine).

For my Stealing the Stories I thought it would be fun to see Aladdin and Jasmine put into different stories. Dunno where it came from. Maybe Hercules and the Arabian Night inspired it?

FOr No Longer Thirsty, it came from non-ALaddin thoughts I had had one day. I then decided to put in the Sultan and Jasmine's mother (partly because I like wondering what happened to her).

For The Switch.. I have no idea!

AL's New Year COuntdown came from poems I've read. It was also New Year's Eve night, and I wanted to have the first fanfic of the year! Laughing

For Inside I started feeling like Jasmine and decided to write it down from her perspective,

I don't have pictures to look at or anything, but I do use the "would i hear this character saying this" test. Wink

i get my inspiration from life, or i'll have a dream, or when i'm bored, and i have nothing but my computer, i just pull stuff out of my ass. Laughing
