Well, I'm writing a new fan-fic. The thing is, it's a bit more mature than my other stories... mainly because it goes into the character's thoughts a little.
Here's the thing, I don't exactly like sexual things in aladdin fanfics that I read. But in this story, there are sexual "references"... I never come out and say, but it's pretty easy to guess what I'm talking about.
Does that make the story really bad? I mean, if it does, this'll be the last story I write like that. It's just a sorta deep story, and it has Mozenrath in it. So I figured it would fit in. But, it's not like a detailed account.
Here's an example:
Aladdin laughed a bit and then turned back into his own dressing screen. Jasmine turned and began working on her image in the vanity mirror. She finished “primping” when Aladdin came back out. She saw him in the mirror and turned around. “Thought of what you wanted to do today?”
“Hmm… yeah,” he whispered as he took her chin in his fingers and kissed her passionately.
Jasmine pulled away gently, “Yeah, this will do,” she replied and the wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him again. It needs to rain more often here in Agrabah, she thought as Aladdin led her to a fainting couch that rested underneath a jungle of flowers and plants. Another clap of thunder made Jasmine hold tighter to Aladdin, and another strike of lightening lit up their passion for split seconds at a time, making the time even more exciting.That's a bit of a reference. Tell me what you think.

I understand what you mean. If it's pertaining to sex and it's after KOT, I don't mind it at all. I mean, hello-did you see the ending? It wouldn't be right if it wasn't there Sometimes people can go a bit far with it, though, which makes me laugh rather than be completely amazed.
But it's anything before that that I kinda raise a brow to because I know the truth in my head, but since this is the writers piece of work, if this is what they think or what they need to happen, then go for it. I can't fault them for that. |

I've read a few that goes to far. There's one on The Library of Agrabah that has Mozenrath rape Jasmine repeatedly. It's kinda "weird", but hey, it's what they want to do.
From what I wrote, ~and it does take place after KOT~, do you think that it's going to far?

See, it's situations like that that I can't fault the writer because that's something that obviously was made for that specific purpose. I can't be like "OMFG THAT WOULDN'T HAPPEN" because that's the writers thoughts and specially made story, but doing that just to do it is where I find it dumb.

How many fanfics do you guys go through everyday? Do you or the crew actually read them to see if it follows the guidelines? Since after KoT, they are a married couple. But when is too much for the writer's perspective? Someone read one of my fanfics and said "That the my story was pointed towards an young adult and late teen readers and that it's not reccommend for younger audiences." After all it was in the recent/update has a rating of a PG suggested. Can you still put that rating even in the archives? After all Aladdin is considered to be a kiddie cartoon. * Thinks of Genie saying, " The earth doesn't shake until the honeymoon."* Which totally depicts the kiddie cartoon thing. |
