"You didn't think it was odd?"
"I found it... relaxing."
I loved that episode. You KNOW they made it for the fans, too - Joe acted like a giddy little fanboy when they took him to the SGC! _________________

I dunno about that. Dan Castellaneta, in my opinion, just said a lot of weird stuff while Robin Williams was actually witty. |
Exactly, Genie does both of those. He is witty and he is weird. Dan's Genie has been witty, too. And you can't put that all on Dan. It's not like he just walks in the booth and improvises his entire script. Then again, people seem to think Robin did the same thing and he totally didn't |

It's not so much what Genie says... it's how he says it. And Robin, somehow in his comic genius, found a way to take even scripted words and make them his own. I love it! _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

I'm not saying that he made up everything - he did, however, have the talent to add his own flavor here and there and make it truely unique and a heck of a lot funnier than what was scripted.
Such as, the original line:
"Hey, you're a lot smaller than my last master. Are you shaving yet?"
Robin's line:
"Hey, you're a lot smaller than my last master. Either that, or I'm getting bigger. Look at me from the side - do I look any different to you?" _________________

Yeah! That's a good example! Their line shoulda been "You're alot younger" if they're going to use shaving.
Robin made it like it should be... dude, he was so awesome in that movie. He seriously just let loose. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

Because that's Robin Williams. He NEVER stays on track...ever , and when you bring a comedian into something you are bound to get improv. I'm sure Dan did the same thing, but it's not like Disney is going to give us a featurette on the Aladdin Series DVDs...as soon as we get some Aladdin series DVDs
I'm just saying that yes Genie is voiced by two different people with two different styles, but I am not going to fault the only Genie we have right now because he stepped up to the bat after Robin's performance to fill in and isn't doing the exact same thing. He can't even come *close* to imitating Robin due to legal reasons and possibly pissing off Robin even more. I tend to look past all that and come up with a logical explaination for Genie's shift in personality, which to me, isn't all that much of a stretch. |

"Kind of random here but...is it just me, or does Aladdin look annoyed everytime Genie talks? (in the movies and the series) It's like the first time they met it was "Wow! A genie! " and now it's like "Ugh...genie. " But he still loves that big blue guy! |

I love that part of their friendship. Especially in "I Never Mechanism I Didn't Like" when Aladdin told him not to use oil on the mechanical bugs, but when he did anyways, the bugs used fire and set everything that had oil on it in the city on fire, too. Then Aladdin has this death glare on his face |

Or that time when Sadira switched places with Jasmine. And Genie was palying with the whale. Aladdin had the funniest "why are we friends?" look on his face. |

And that scene in KoT - Genie is... er... launching the troops, and Aladdin gets an "oh, brother..." look on his face. _________________

Yeah. If it were me, I would've used a tranq while Cassim had his back turned.
...Though, Aladdin probably would've beaten me black 'n blue. Or at least wanted to.
......Which is slightly redundant. _________________

Yeah, since genie already IS blue.
You know who I miss? Hades and Jafar. They should get their own spin-off, or a Jaffy and Hades Special Memories Collection on DVD. They're awesome together. Like Colin and Ryan. Anyone else but me here watch whose line? ER...I guess not. |
