Oh. My. God.
Remember when I was joking about that Jasmine doll with a sparkly name belt? And someone else here said not to jinx it because Disney might come out with their own Princess Bratz collection....?
Well, we jinxed it.
I was at Barnes&Nobles a few weeks ago and I came across a Radio Disney's Pop Dreamers CD. At first I looked at the cover and thought thought "Heh. What's this crap? It's kinda cute." I looked at the back and saw that some of their songs were titled
2. Beauty And The Beast
4. If You Can Dream (Ella's Theme)
5. Better Together (Ari's Theme)
6. A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes
8. Part Of Your World
9. Between The Lines (Gabrielle's Theme)
And other non-Disney related songs. At first I thought, OK. That's not such a bad thing that they're making G-rated CDs that kids will love, even if it is corny. I remember having a barbie casette tape, and if I had a kid I'd prefer buying them a CD I knew was safe. (I'd just buy them headphones so I wouldn't have to hear it)
And then I looked at the cover more closely.
Wait a minute...those Bratz look-alikes look too much like Ariel, Cinderella and Belle! No they didn't! They did! No, they wouldn't. Did they??? Ari, Ella, Gabrielle....No, this is just a coincidence! Well...Gabrielle doesn't really sound like Belle...
I researched it some more online and they ARE inspired by the 3 princesses. At first, I was a little miffed that they didn't choose Jasmine to be part of the band. She rocks harder than the others and I can imagine her with a guitar. But maybe this is a good thing that they spared her. Check out this link! It's all true! Apparently, Pop Dreamers have been around for a while, since about 2002. I never knew!

I knew of those; I just didn't think to link them to the bratz dolls. They are kinda creepy, though
I had a similar moment like this when I was saying "They need to make a toddler Aladdin doll, that would be so cute" and then the next month they came out with one. I was freaked out |

And poor Jasmine. She's just the neglected princess.

My favorite was my little Minnie and Me tape. I loooooooved Minnie Mouse as a child (and got to dance with her , but that's another story ) and I probably wore that tape out. Though I could probably still sing the songs . . . _________________

Actually yes . The best part is the clothes he is wearing looks like the ones that one kid was wearing when his father picked him up (the blue and white outfit). He jacked that kid's clothes as soon as that scene was over. "Teach you to close the door on me!" |

I'm kind of annoyed that Belle is involved with the whole thing, but I do find her doll from the collection to be cute.

Good work, Al. That's probably how he got his start. And then he outgrew those, and had to go back to the purple vest. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was.
