It's one of the best movies ever! I rewatched it again today at a friend's house but I haven't watched it since I was little. I wish this had been made into a broadway musical
Anyway, I'm sure most of you are aware of Belle's cameo in hunchback, when Quasi is singing his song. you can see her moving through a crowd of people reading a book as she walks along. I love whoever put her in there!
I remember reading a book at Barnes and Nobles about Belle where she meets a gypsy who reads her palm and tells her she will have great adventures. It wasn't Es, though. It's funny to think of BatB going on while HB was going on. If you crossed the sreet there would be two different musicals It's not impossible, since they both live in France. The book also said Belle hadn't always live in her little village but moved there when she was a little girl, after her mom died.
Near the end of Hunchback when everytihng was burning, where do you think Belle is? Gatson and his crew had torches and were going after Beast so they would fit right in with the others at Hunchback.
Also, what do you suppose would've happened if Belle had met Quasi first? So many questions...so little time |

A Sa'luk/Clopin song-off would make my KoT fandom complete. _________________ "This cow's been covered with flour!" |

Hmm, the Court of Miracles song does remind me a bit of Welcome to the Forty Thieves. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

The characters from Beauty and the Beast couldn't have met the characters from Hunchback From Notre Dame. While both are set in France, they were set during completely different time-periods. Hunchback of Notre Dame, while I don't know exactly when it was set, was set during the Gothic period, which ranged from the 12-15th centuries. Beauty and the Beast was set much later - sometime in the 19th century, I'd venture. _________________

Well, Belle would win because she's down there with everyone else singing her song and Quasi is somehere where no one can see or hear him. He could go down there and challenge her to a show down, but Belle would still win because people would just run and scream at the sight of him.
Belle: You just got served, Quasi!
Townpeople: Ooohhhh |

Personally, imagining it that way gives me anachronistic shock. _________________

Well, that's how I like to explain the Hercules/Aladdin crossover
The toontime at toontown explanation is total BS, but hey, it's something. And it explains those princess DVDs where the princesses host together and interact
I saw a book at B&N that was like a map to all the princess's worlds. It was quite detailed, made no sense, but it works. There is another that explains that Disney's Neverland is hard to find because it changes its location. And sometimes Neverland can be huge and sometimes it can be small. Sometimes you can find your way to it and sometimes you can't. I think Kingdom Hearts explains something about other world but I forgot whatever it was...
Anyway, the whole thing allows them to make as many plot holes as they want |

It was a musical in Europe...Germany, I believe. Sadly I haven't heard anything about it coming to Broadway; I don't really know much more about it other than having read in an old Disney Magazine (R.I.P.) that it existed. Wonder if it's still running over there...
Did anyone else see the Festival of Fools stage show at Disneyland? THAT was cool. (WDW's wasn't half bad either, but Disneyland's was amazing; it was more of a recreation of the Festival scene while WDW basically said "Let us tell you our cleaned-up version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame...")
Anyway...as for the movie, I LOVE the music and the look of it...I think the gargoyles were over the top. Yes, that movie needed SOME comic relief and 'lightening up' for the way in which they wanted to tell and alter it, but they get irritating...sometimes they're fun, sometimes I think they are a desparate attempt to keep the kids interested. But I don't hate them; just think they're a little too prominent. And their song doesn't fit the rest of the film or score, IMO. That said...the rest of the movie is so strong and BOLD ("Hellfire," anyone?), I can deal with the gargoyles and still enjoy the film a lot. Not as good for the kiddies as a lot of other Disney animated films, but that's not a criticism at all; it's actually part of why I like it so much. |

Hellfire is FANTASTIC. I think that's my favorite Disney villain song.
And "God Help The Outcasts" is in my top 10 favorite Disney songs. So beautiful. |
