We all know Aladdin and Jasmine are perfect for each other, but what elements of their relationship make them your favorite couple?
For me,it's the dialouge and body language, espescially in the first movie. You could really see them connecting and see how they alike they really are. |

I like how they're so "real". They're not sickeningly happy and fake all the time, and act like a normal couple. They have fights, but in the end they still love each other, and that's how realtionships are supposed to be.

It's like PH said--their realism. Even if you put them in a modern setting and took away the princess/street rat thing leaving just their personalities and who they are, it would still work. I believe they really are a couple. All the little things they do add to that.
Their body language is out of this world. I think we all see they can't keep their hands off each other (NotThatIBlameJasmineCauseIWouldBeAllOverHimToo) . I love that they fight; I love that they know how to get under the other's skin; I love that they can function as seperate people, yet still "need" each other when they are together; I love that they still have to grow as people and learn more about themselves by being together. It's awesome. They balance out each other. They are not perfect, but they are the perfect couple because of that.
And come on--that ending in KOT? It doesn't get any more real than that...at least as far as the Disney censors will show |

PrincessHikaru and AladdinsGenie put it so much better than I ever could. Aladdin and Jasmine are simply so good together. Normally I like exploring alternate pairings and seeing how they work out, but not in this case. That's why I never got into Aladdin/Mozenrath slash. Aladdin can't be without Jasmine.

I think AG and PH said it best.Their realism makes them the best couple. They act so much like a real couple. They not happy all the time and they don't act all perfect. They're human. I guess that's what I love about them. Any other comments ppl? |

OK, let's get moving on this, self...
Sorry if I'm kind of snitty right now...hopefully this subject will cheer me up.
They're real...they both go into this knowing they've got some faults they're going to need to work at. He deals with his insecurity by lying, and she gets hurt. She's not always very patient with him and he doesn't know what hit him when a mood swing smacks him in the face. But they don't toss in the towel and walk away...they work at it. While we don't see story arcs about "look how much Al has grown up, look, he's not lying anymore!"...it definitely seems like he's doing this less often by KoT. I don't even fault him for trying to pass Cassim off as an honest guy; he so desperately WANTED his dad to change, have a new start, and lead a righteous life; I don't think he'd have bothered with such an act if he didn't believe it. And I think Jasmine notices the changes too...Jasmine of RoJ/early series would have reamed him for lying again...Jasmine of KoT hears him out, understands, and forgives. HER change is very apparent. These two characters really relate to each other so convincingly (their happy moments, their arguments, their fears, their body language...) and they grow as individuals and as a couple. They have such a deep and powerful love, but it seems convincing. I like that they're both strong characters as individuals and that doesn't get lost when they're together, and their relationship doesn't seem convincing from only one side like a lot of other Disney couples. I can just believe them in every way, and they complement each other so well...they're not perfect, but they're perfectly matched.
Ah, I know I could do better, but I'm lacking in motivation today. |

I agree with all of the above.

Same here. I mean, I don't really read a lot of stuff where their relationship is the main plot since pretty much every aspect of their relationship has been covered at some point in canon, but I don't like seeing them broken up. Short of one of them being dead I can't think of a single thing that could reasonably split them up. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! Way to ruin the mood AG.
Well, I like them because they had a series and sequel together. I like the idea that not only can they carry a series and a sequel without looking fake (Snow and her prince could never do that) but Jasmine was engaged to him fora long time before they finally married. I like that she took the time to get to know him and even gave him a chance after all he did in the 1st movie. And in the beginning of the series it was obvious they didn't know everytihng about eahc other. In one episode, Jasmine wonders if Aladdin could love her if she weren't beautiful. Of course, she would never question that now but I suppose that was Al's fault for saying "I loved you ever since I set eyes on your beautiful face..."
"You love me...for my beauty?"
"Well....yeah!"
Their relationship evolves and that's what I really like about it. |
