Wait until October 3?! I most definitely can't. I want TLM Platinum Edition now!!! Just why do they have to make us wait? Well, I'm just glad it's not Aladdin I'm waiting for. Then I'd go nuts. Laughing

I go without sleep on such ocasions. Can't sleep, can't sit down to watch anything, can't listen to music, can't concentrate, can't eat, can't do anything. I just want that dvd!!!I'm all counting down seconds, practically when Aladdin was going to come out.

I am royally excited about a 2 Disc Little Mermaid DVD with lots of fun bonus features and stuff, but I think my single-disc limited issue one can hold me over. Besides, I'm willing to bet that the minister's knee will be edited out of the rerelease and it'll bother me because once again, Disney will make themselves look guilty just like with TLK and Aladdin. But it IS his knee; when the birds swoop down to attack Vanessa, you see the aerial view of him and BOTH knees are protruding....

That said, oh, the thought of commentary and wonderful bonus features and 2 discs of Ariel and friends goodness is SO exciting. I hope there's a great making of with some new footage of the VAs, animators, and Alan Menken. And some good Howard Ashman tribute. I think TLM is one of the most significant Disney animated films, and yes, I am putting my bias aside when I say that; it did for Disney films post-Walt the same thing that Cinderella did for Disney films post-WWII...it proved that the medium wasn't dead and kept the legacy, that many thought to be struggling, alive. It deserves a darned good DVD. Smile

And I know that's another thread, but I'll say here that thinking about this makes me think that the function of Disney Princesses should be to be part of films that begin a new golden age of Disney animation, like Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel all did.
