...Make that BIG cricket bugs. They're over an inch long... and they're all over the place!
Innit they cute? When they chirp, they sound just like the cricket from Mulan. _________________

Actually, I think they're Mormon crickets, which aren't really crickets at all, but a relative of the katydid family.
Apparently, they're also pests.
Wetas look a bit different and are native to New Zealand. It'd be a bit of a trick getting them way up here. _________________

I get nervous around bees and wasps. Used to with spiders, but I've become less so. _________________

Yellowjackets are wasps.
Twice I went through several days of yellowjackets in my bedroom. I don't remember if I did this both times, but after getting tired of having them in my room I vacuumed them up. _________________

Desert, Northwest America. The sort of place where you find inch-and-a-half-long crickets that sneak into your house through the crack between door and frame. We must've thrown at least seven of the little buggers out of our room last night. _________________ *

We don't have lots of pests here. The cat finished all the wildlife int eh backyard. We just have pidgeons. I hate them. Can't seem to get rid of them. That and lizards, but I don't mind the lizards.
If only the dog showed the same efficiency in killing the ticks that get on him. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. Perhaps you are right in thinking of me as an alien. I know I am different from you. You see-I do not kill." |
