After reviewing my fan-arts*, I decided I would like to give Sadira some kind of animal companion or pet for my fan-arts.
Please help me choose one.

Some options. Feel free to suggest an animal not from this list.
- Snake.
- Lizard.
-Rabbit.
-Camel.
-Gazelle.
-Oryx( antelope species).
- Goat.
-Ibex.
-Tahr ( goat-like species).
-Ratel.
-Fox.
-Civet.
-Leopard.
-Rodent/jerboa.

* Which I cannot show you yet because there is no scanner here.

I feel like something small would be better, so any of the first three would be good, but I also like the fox option, which is probably my love of foxes speaking Laughing. But it works, though!

Yeah I immediately pictured an animal that bared some likeness to her - like a brown fox - strong, agile, slender, and has thick brown hair. You could even throw in the same eye color for extra effect, and there ya go! Smile

You know what kind of foxes live in the desert? Fennec foxes, which are one of the cutest animals in the world. Look them up, if you don't know what they look like already.

I mean, they mainly live in Africa, but I think that considering the fact that there's a scarlet macaw in Aladdin, transplanting a North African animal to Arabia is not that much of a stretch.

Not really ,but I did a search and got :

-Arabian red fox.
-Ruppells fox.
-Blanford fox.
- Fennec fox.

I wouldn't guessed there were so many foxes.

PS: Yes, I hope to put this stuff on line sometime.
Alas, my progress is being slowed due to the printer issues, which I need for my references. I'm irritated that after printing a couple of screen grabs this summer, this printer starts having issues.

I'd never heard of the jerboa before, but I just googled it and I think it get my vote. I like the idea of a rodent, because Sadira's a street mouse. It lives in a burrow underground, it's a good jumper... it just reminds me a lot of Sadira. And it's cute, IMO. Wink

I really like the idea of Sadira having an animal sidekick! And everyone else in the series has one after all. XD

No offense to the fox-lovers, but foxes are everywhere in art and fiction these days. I like what Calluna suggested with the jerboa. Or if you still want to give her a carnivore that's quick, cute, travel-sized, and clever, then why not a civet like the genet (the critter in the picture below), or the mongoose? They're pretty unique, IMHO.

Plus, look at this face:

I had a fairy tale book when I was younger, and it had Aladdin in it. It gave Aladdin a pet mongoose, which is actually quite handy as they eat snakes and have been part of Indian/middle East folklore.

Thanks for the additional suggestions. I did already do the fox, but I suppose I could draw more then one version.
