I don't think he's crazy either..more like misunderstood.
Another good one is "Do the Rat Thing" when Jasmine gets turned into a rat for a day ( and Iago is her lizard sidekick XD ).
I agree with the Sadira thing..I do think he overreacted a little. I was surprised at how easily Jasmine forgave Sadira, too, but I guess it wasn't hard for them to find common ground. I guess he was just really ticked about the Dragonslayer thing _________________

"Do the Rat Thing" is a great example of what drove the show, character development. Jasmine learns a lesson about what it means to be a street rat. I don't really think it's a great episode since it felt a bit hooky with the kids, like it was trying too hard to make me feel bad. I also hate the Sultan's "we have poor people" line. It really knocks this episode down for me. |

I liked DtRT more when I was younger, but now it just seems like Jasmine is way too naive, especially considering where in the series it falls. At the beginning it would make more sense, but halfway in?
You're all going to hate me for this, but it reminds me a bit of Peacock Princess. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

...You know what, it does, doesn't it? XD I never really thought about it that way but the episode is similar to that. It's not my absolute favorite but I love some of the lines.
"I am not talking to you."
"What'd I do?"

I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but I really liked "That Stinking Feeling." I think Jasmine overreacts in the beginning, but it leads to what I find to be a hilarious episode! It puts Jasmine in the wrong too, which almost never happens. But it also introduces an endearing new character, is romantic (without being gag-me), has even the animals play a big part, and is funny!
Oh my gosh, I LOVE when Jasmine says, "It is Agrabanian custom to throw a watermelon into the highest window." XD I die every time.

My favorite is probably "Riders Redux" or "The Secret of Dagger Rock."
I also really like "Eye of the Beholder," "Sandswitch," "Moonlight Madness," "Strike Up the Sand," "Forget Me Lots," (noticing a trend here?), "Sneeze the Day," "Some Enchanted Genie," "The Lost Ones," and "Two to Tangle"
(SO that makes my top 12?)
There are some I remember liking as a kid but haven't seen in long enough to rate like "When Chaos Comes Calling," "While the City Snoozes," "Seems Like Old Crimes," and "The Seven Faces of Genie."
I can't remember "The Great Rift" at all... That's my next one to watch. _________________

Wow, this thread brings back a lot of memories.
My all-time favorites growing up were The Secret of Dagger Rock, Moonlight Madness (would you believe I used to run away and leave the room when the jackal came out? lol), Eye of the Beholder, Garden of Evil, and It's Elemental, My Dear Jasmine. The last two I probably liked because they were the only ones I had on tape. When my Aladdin cassette broke around age 10, those two TV episodes and the sequels were all I had for awhile...until the Special Edition came out. ^_^
Another favorite of mine that hasn't been mentioned is The Ethereal. The emotion in it was so intense and I couldn't get over the fact that JASMINE DIED. I love her and her relationship with Aladdin, and you almost never see Disney characters get killed, especially the good guys. I just couldn't comprehend that happening. I remember screaming out loud the first time I saw it. Really, really moving. _________________

Oh wow that one was really good too. I was kinda surprised that Aladdin wasn't a little more upset because he goes beserk every time she's kidnapped. I guess he was just too shocked to react like that. _________________

Yeah kinda. I hated how she kept trying to take Al for herself but at least she gave in and let go. I wonder if she found her own hero. _________________

Here’s a few of mine:
1. Eye of the Beholder - Really touching episode and I thought it was well-carried out. Although the ending irks me mainly because I keep wondering if Phasir and Mirage had some sort of relationship in the past. I wished they elaborated more on that.
2. The Ethereal - Probably the darkest Aladdin episode. Having some witch-thing threatening to wipe out your city is stressful enough and then Jasmine died. o_o Thank goodness the ethereal changed her mind, otherwise that would be some ending to the Aladdin saga.
3. Witch Way Did She Go - Another favorite. I felt bad for Sadira because of the way Aladdin and his friends treated her (though you can’t really blame them for acting the way they did), but she managed to win their trust and become a hero. I know it’s been said before, but I’ll say it again: I hope Sadira finds a hero of her own. She deserves it.
4. The Great Rift - I don’t really have much to say about this episode. I just like it.
5. Forget Me Lots - Besides Jasmine turning all evil, I always like to see Abis Mal and Haroud.
6. Garden of Evil
I have a few others, but I forgot the names. ^^; |

Hi Everyone,
My name is Dustin, and I'm an Aladdin aficionado. I have numerous Disney movies that are darlings to me, but Aladdin is tops, since his life mirrors mine in many ways. Thanks for this forum and for having me!
As for this topic, I haven't seen all the episodes. I'm actually trying to watch them all these days (does anyone know of a good place btw? I used to have them on YouTube, but they've been falling away recently). So but from the episodes I have seen, I most enjoyed the episode where Aladdin's head and body were separated and had to find its way back to each other (I don't recall ep names! Yes, I'm a newbie at this...). I also like the episodes involving those vikings (or perhaps generally nordic people), I particularly remember the one where they bounce to and fro places (or was it get catapulted?). Then the Mechanicles guy, he always seems to have outrageous inventions. Sorry, this isn't the most nuanced or in-depth post, I know. Reading all your posts were interesting, I'll watch more episodes and try to get to that point too!
Thanks, and thanks for this great place for Aladdin nuts like myself!

Hey, Dustin. I sent you a private message regarding watching the episodes.
If you want to look for specific episodes, I would suggest looking at the synopses on this page:
http://aladdincentral.org/transcripts/index.html
It sounds like you are talking about "Heads, You Lose" and episodes with Prince Uncouthma and Mechanikles. _________________
