I did that quite a few times in college, often because I had no idea what I was doing.
One of the classes (Composition and Rhetoric) gave me the excuse to write papers on Aladdin (a 3 (?) page deal about the balcony scene in the first one), and a 10 page paper on Beauty and the Beast (about Gaston, specifically). Win.

Took C++ just to get an easy 100. I didn't learn a single thing.
