So throughout the Aladdin movies and TV series, there weren't many guys who were after Jasmine even though she was stunningly beautiful and sexy.

- Jafar wanted to marry her to become the Sultan. Although at one point, he did make a wish to make her fall desperately in love with him

- Uncouthma came to court Jasmine from Odiferous

- Phil tried to make a pass at her in Hercules and the Arabian Night crossover episode Very Happy

- Mozenrath said in Vocal Hero "Before I am done princess, you will give me everything." and then laughed wickedly

- Mozenrath said in Two to Tangle: "They can go but you can stay". Again in a naughty tone.

- Prince Wazoo was after her in Do the Rat Thing

- Prince Achmed (from the first movie)

So anyone else?

In contrast, two vamps were after Aladdin - Saleen and Sadira come to mind.

Consider that Jasmine was so beautiful, none of them made a really determined effort to win her over. (Like how Sadira and Saleen nearly destroyed Jasmine).

Ayam Aghoul was closer to anybody else to actually marrying her!

Ah yes of course! Ayam Aghoul in The Spice is Right! Laughing Laughing I wonder why he gave up on her after that initial episode. He only seemed to be concerned with revenge on Aladdin after that.

Without the necklace, it probably wasn't possible or worth it.

You’re right about her being sexy. If I were one of those dudes, I’d certainly do everything I could’ve to make her mine. She’s the most beautiful animated female character I ever saw.

I didn't want to start a new thread when this one sort of touches on it

but it just occurred to me that when Aladdin flew up to her balcony right before AWNW, Jasmine wasn't at all surprised by his presence out there. The only way to her balcony is through her room, too, so that seems to imply that guys managing to sneak their way on to her balcony to wait and woo her was normal Laughing

...but how did they get up there? :0

And then how did they get down...?

Unless she told all of them to jump and Aladdin was the only one she regretted telling to do so.

And the others...kersplat

I'm assuming they went through her room while she wasn't in it and waited out there, and was escorted out the same way (read: rajah sent them running out Laughing). But aladdin is the only one to get up there via carpet. That's why it took her a moment to be like "wait a second..." cause presumably she was in her room the entire evening after she stormed off.

But perhaps she was too kind to have them imprisoned? Because isn't that what happened to Aladdin in the Broadway show? Like that's the reason Jafar had him locked up? Or am I remembering that wrong?

(Also, forgive me, I overanalyze everything...it's a flaw.)

Yeah, part of me can definitely see Sultan being a little too dense to realize it's not a good idea to let these young men in to his daughter's room no matter how desperate he is for an heir (which could explain Rajah's reaction to pretty much any man that looks her), but I can also see there being rules/boundaries if things got out of hand ("Jasmine won't even let me talk to her") so you could ideally get in trouble for trespassing in her chambers if the "wait on her balcony" method really was used more than we realized.

But you can't exactly lock up princes from other lands without there being consequences for the country/government, so I would think that rule is a last resort kind of thing for actual princes and not guys from the south side of the city faking it until they make it Laughing

This was actually exactly my thought when it happened in the show. :b Like it was one thing in the movie to have him murdered and then just pretend that he left. Quite another to actually lock him up and not even keep that a secret. Now of course, Aladdin wasn't a real prince from any real country, so it didn't matter in the slightest, but Jafar didn't know that!

I mean, I suspended my disbelief enough to just enjoy it, but...it still crossed my mind. I would've liked the dramatic drowning scene reenacted instead.

And now that I think about it, I bet the sultan was REALLY happy that his daughter decided to marry Aladdin after he revealed that Jafar tried to have him killed. He was probably like "holy shit major crisis averted, Prince Ali's people never have to know we almost killed him. :'D And maybe I can bribe him a little more to get him to keep his mouth shut about it forever. I know! I'll promise him my whole kingdom! He can take my place as sultan here! 8'D"
