...am I the only one who doesn't think they all sound the same? I think sometimes it's hard to tell who's who because their voices blend so well (it sounds more like 1 voice than lots of them together). But I digress. Smile Here you go, from the lyrics that come with "Disney Princess: The Ultimate Song Collection."

ARIEL
There is a world where hope and dreams can last for all time
A wondrous place to go...you'll know it when your heart finds...

JASMINE
Hearing our song as old as rhyme
Hold my hand, we're gonna fly
What a magic ride...
And just a kiss away...

ARIEL, JASMINE, POCAHONTAS, MULAN, AURORA
If you can dream
The wish we're making on a star is comin' true
The colors of the wind will lead my heart right back to you
'Cause if you can dream
Reflections in a diamond sky come shinin' on through
Romance will always be so new
And love will save the day
If you can dream

CINDERELLA
Someday your prince will come
It's certain as the sunrise
One day the slipper fits
Then you feel the love in his eyes

BELLE
It's a tale as old as time
There's no mountain we can't climb
When you're finally mine
And just a kiss away

SLEEPING BEAUTY, POCAHONTAS, ARIEL, JASMINE
(Repeat chorus...why do they not list Mulan this time? I mean, if Jasmine's there...)

BELLE
So the story goes
Never die the rose

JASMINE
There's a whole new world
Waiting there for us

(NOTE: Here the lyrics veer off from what's on the recording)

GROUP OF MULTIPLE PRINCESS THAT AT LEAST INCLUDES ARIEL
Waiting just for us

(According to the lyrics again, we now have...)
CINDERELLA
So...

CINDERELLA, POCAHONTAS, MULAN, ARIEL, AURORA
(Repeat chorus)

Then it says

ALL
If you can dream

is the end, but I think there's just one voice and I can't remember whose...but I'd guess Cinderella. Razz

~*The Disney Princess not on the recording...and no, not Kida or Eilonwy*~

Oh, and in case you were wondering...

Jodi Benson is still Ariel...Paige O'Hara is still Belle...Lea Salonga is still Jasmine/Mulan...Judy Kuhn is still Pocahontas...Aurora (the one the lyrics keep calling 'Sleeping Beauty' and irking me a bit...) and Cinderella's voices are named Susie Stevens Logan and Christie Houser, but I don't know which is which.

I should have known there'd be a music video. Where can I find it? Is it on one of the DVDs I might own, or is there a DVD that features all these music videos? I think I remember seeing a Disney Princess Tea Party DVD when I bought my CD.

I think you can see the video at the official Disney princess website.

And on a semi-related note, has anyone heard this song about Jasmine and Ariel that plays on the Toon Disney channel during commercials? It's something like Disney princess rock party...thing or something. I can't remember the exact name of it, but it's a song about Jasmine and Ariel kickin' ass and rocking out, basically Laughing

i like that song, but sometimes it sounds like they are jsut putting nice sounding lyrics together with no real meaning, in a sense, pretty and poetic stuff but a little strange in the song, or maybe i'm just a little nuts!

The only line mentioning a rose is "never die the rose," which is sung by Belle. But Aurora is in the choral stuff, with Cinderella, but neither is featured as much as the princesses whose original voices are there.

As far as DD's remark...I agree. It's kind of pretty and sweet and has the nice 'follow your heart' message, but...yeah, they strung as many past Princess song lyrics together as they could..."our song as old as rhyme"...Jasmine saying "we're gonna fly"...wishing on stars (When You Wish...)...the colors of the wind..."Reflections in a diamond sky" is Lea overdrive...someday (my) prince will come...certain as the sun(rise)...the slipper fits...a tale as old as time...never die the rose (an obvious reference to Beast's rose, but wow, I think that line's awkward)...'there's a whole new world'....it sounds like it's simultaneously a love song and a "dream on, little girls, you can be a princess, too!" song...but it doesn't really work very well as either because it goes back and forth and has gratuitous phrases thrown in for kicks. x.x

Thanks! Smile Added it to my favourites. I thought about putting the video in my myspace profile, but I'd feel funny about doing that, since it isn't mine.

Oh gosh...OK, so now knowing for certain that Aurora is the first "Romance will always be so new..." and that the "Someday my prince will come..." part is Cinderella, may I rant that Aurora's voice in this song sounds NOTHING like Mary Costa (she had a huge classical-style voice and this girl sings in the same Broadway style as Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, etc...and who's brilliant idea was it to give Aurora-the-soprano the lowest parts of the song?) and the Cinderella stand-in sounds more like a bad Snow White impersonation in the beginning of her part and than just sounds nice, but nothing like Ilene Woods? The video is cute, though...and on some of the newer 'original Princess songs' (like on the Christmas album), they have much better Aurora and Cinderella (as well as Snow White) stand-ins. Still confused as to why they have Susan Egan doing all the new Belle stuff, though...

Thanks for sharing the video! I still think it's pretty well done overall.

EDIT: Yeah, my computer wouldn't load the whole thing last night, so I only got to see the first half...um, now that I got to see it all, I'll go better than "pretty well done"...as much as there's a lot of cheesiness and stuff...it's packed enough sentimental value to make me tear up when they start to show the visual montages. I'm feeling a little sappy today...my brother's pet bearded dragon died, and I feel really bad for him so I think my emotions are rocky...

I don't think anyone can replace the original voice for Aurora. It seems they got the best of the best for her; hiring an actual opera singer to do her voice. Disney's usually pretty good about picking out voices, but everyone knows that the original voices are the best.
