Umm, Jafar travels alot. Probably among his travels he stumbled upon Iago.

Aladdin Oh, much farther than you've traveled, I'm sure.
(He smiles. JAFAR does not.)
JAFAR: Try me.

Parrots are household birds. They probably traveled on imports and exports and among the pirates.

Jafar said "If it weren't for me, you'd still be in a cage in the bazaar, squawking 'Polly want a cracker!'". Since he said simply "the bazaar," this implies that he wasn't too far away from home when he found Iago. Otherwise, he probably would've said something to the effect of "If it weren't for me, you'd still be in Guatamala, squawking 'Polly want a cracker!'"

So, I don't know who brought Iago from SA, but it probably wasn't Jafar.

Well, not all Spanish is in South America either. Laughing

Maybe Iago's parents were Spanish and he just developed a random New York accent on accident? Laughing

The scarlet macaw is a South American bird. Admittedly, Iago's a bit small for a scarlet macaw... but then again, Gilbert Gottfried is a bit of a runt himself, so maybe the same holds true for Iago.

Iago doesn't have the yellow feathers, but if you can find a breed of parrot that looks more like Iago... well, I'd be very interested.

Well, according to Iago, he brought himself to the desert.

Iago: Tropical climates are very unpredictable. That's why I moved to the desert. Better for my sinuses.

Now, how he ended up in the cage Jafar found him in is another matter. Laughing

He moved to the desert, someone said "Oooh, exotic bird", shoved him in a cage and sold him to Jafar Laughing

So, he flew over the entire Atlantic sea, huh? Good grief... silly bird, didn't he know that the Chilean desert would have been closer? Very Happy Or the places that would become Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc.?

...Or maybe he just set out one day with no idea as to where he was going.

Iago probably stop by the Carribean Islands first and then some remote undiscovered islands that lays across the Atlantic Ocean. Then he stopped by Northern Africa at Morroco and by the you know it. He's in the Arabian deserts.

Very Happy I know! Laughing Laughing That's a perfect saying for that avatar! Damn! I don't have that paint shop! I tried it on my adobe picture shop. Obviously that didn't work or to make to move into different pictures.

You need a program that allows you to animate avatars like JASC shop.

Well, Iago coule also be a Green-Winged Macaw (also from South America), although then he's missing the green instead of the yellow. Laughing

I have seen birds that looked very much like Iago in a zoo, but I can't remember what they were called. *kicks self for not writing it down or something*

In Fowl Weather, Genie points to the rain forest of Africa on the map. Maybe Iago came from there?
