For those of you who haven't read my fanfiction,this is a pic of Al and Jas' 16 year old daughter,Hazel,drawn by my friend dazzeling diamond.
Yes,she does look a lot like Jas.

Cute, but I have to protest her being named 'Hazel' on every level. 
Is it just me, or is her face identical to Jasmine's?

I actually have heard of Muslim girls named Hazel, and it is fanFICTION, as in the name doesn't have to have the historical context.
Yes,she favors Jasmine,but the faces arent identical. Hazel's is a little more oval.

as the artist, i have to say, purposely she looks like Jasmine, but her features aren't as sharp, especially at the cheeks, she also has those messy bangs. so yeah, but what can u expect? i don't normally draw animations, and when ur trying to blend al an djas it's a little tough!

I thought she was supposed to have her dad's eyes.
But, yeah, it would be nicer if she had an Arabic name. I love Arabic names. They are so...beautiful.

Considering i'm not Arabian and don't know many Arabian people,I worked with what I had.
And for the record,Jasmine is not an Arabian name.If Disney can deviate in it's movies,I can with my fanfiction.

But Jasmine is derivation from Yasmin, which is Arabic for jasmine. They had a reason. It just makes it accessible yet authenthic. Also, it isn't too hard to look for Arabic names. There are at least half a dozen sites dedicated to Arabian baby names.

also with the arabic thing, why didn't they just choose the name yasmine then? people who aren't arabic have that name and it's pronouncable, so they shoulda used that if they wanted to be traditional. personally, i don't see the need to fuss it's not as though her name is amelia or katie which would just be weird!
