YAY! My first poll!
Well, besides the early scrapped songs about Aladdin's three buds and the Genie's freedom, which of these four deleted songs do you wish had been in the movie fuhdaheckofit?
I picked Why Me? b/c I just cracked up watching it.
Proud of Your Boy was very beautimous, but I hate the idead of Aladdin having a mother, so meh. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

Same here.
Jafar needs a song and "Why Me" was my favorite of the two. _________________

Why Me, because it's the only one that really works in the story as it is, except for You Can Count on Me, which IMO is really boring. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

But I like COM and POYB too.
They are both very lovely songs. _________________

I'm a fan of You Can Count on Me... I'm not sure why, I just really like the tune. _________________ I don't need intelligent drugs, because I don't know what they are. But I will put anything into my mouth that is given to me, whether it's supposed to go there or not. Because... I'm different. |

I chose Why Me. I think Jafar could have used a longer song, though the reprise for Prince Ali was good.
You Can Count On Me is a great song, but it was kind of boring for me at first. It was more of an acquired taste for me. I thought the One Jump Ahead reprise was fine.
Wow...I just listened to Call Me A Princess for the first time and I must say that I am glad it never made it into the movie. The lyrics are sooo wrong. I think everyone would have hated Jasmine if they left that song in. I wonder if they seriously considered putting it in the movie or if they were just messing around. _________________ When in doubt, hurt the bird.

Why Me or Humiliate the Boy-either crack me up. |

The latter. They always throw out a dozen songs for these things. Yes, COM was REALLY boring, and the other two would not have fit into the revised plot. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

Messing around.

This is more a tangent than anything else we've included. Very early on, Howard and I toyed with this song for a spoiled princess. One try and it was history. Luckily, that try was preserved on tape. |

I'm so glad they were just messing around with Call Me A Princess. For some reason, though, I always thought that all of the demos were considered for being in the movie. _________________ When in doubt, hurt the bird.

PoYB tends to get stuck in my head a lot, though. I think it's a nice song, but obviously doesn't work in the movie.
CoM is ok - not really sad it had to go, but the part where Al says "Did I mention girls?" and Abu rolls his eyes gets me everytime. |

I vote "Why Me?" because Jafar needed a song, and I like "Why Me?" better than "Humiliate the Boy." HtB is about Aladdin, really - if from the wrong perspective - but WM is all Jafar. _________________ |

That and it didn't fit as well. I liked the whole "Cinderella" part, where we find out the harem girls were plagued rats, but the rest of it was a little, uh, over the top.
But the second version was HILARIOUS! Especially the little back essence sort of tap thing Jafar and Iago do when Aladdin's going bye-bye was hugely funny. _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

"They were rodents?"
"Yeah, diseased ones."
Talk about improvising. |

Yeah, but Jonathan's "Rub-a-dub-dub" line in Why Me seals it. _________________
