I'm torn as to which one I should get XD. Is the collector's edition gift set worth the extra money? I know it has a book and the animation cel and sketches I believe in addition to the normal DVD, but I've seen them go up for a lot on ebay/Amazon, and is it really worth it? _________________

I have the gift set and the only pain about it is having to grab the DVD out the box, and then take it out the surrounding sleeve to open it and get the DVDs. The sketches are lovely (I use to have them hanging on my wall), the film frame is nice (did anyone get one that's not from AWNW?), and I just had to grab my set to even remember what's in the book . It's basically a book about the features on the DVD + the story as told through images from the film.
Considering we don't know when, if ever, we'll get another set like this, it might be worth it just for that, but you could live without the set if money is a problem. The set price will get more expensive over the years because it's a gift set for the first DVD release for a movie that's in the vault and has no plans for coming out any time soon. The deciding factor is going to be if you want the sketches or not. |

Ah okay, thanks ^^. I think I might go with the gift set for the sketches ( plus I've wanted it for the longest, and I definitely should have gotten it sooner ). _________________

Make sure you get all the sketches. I've heard of people missing a few when they get them from previously owned sellers who just wanted one or two |

Thanks--I'm probably going to try for 'new' or 'collectible' ( even though it'll probably cost more but those sketches are looking more tempting by the minute XD ) but I'll be sure to see if everything's there. _________________

Definitely try "new" or 'never before opened'. "Factory sealed" doesn't always mean what it says because apparently you can get a shrink wrap machine and make it look like it is |

Never knew there was a gift set available when it came out. Any pix or scans anywhere? Hmm? |

Also, Princess of Agrabah - I looked Amazon and I'd go for the "new" option. I only paid $40 when the DVD came out, which seemed like a lot at the time, but I now know is nothing compared to what you can pay for when it comes to sets . Another $20 dollars isn't that bad. That collectible option, though, pfffft. Ignore that. |

Okay, thanks I think I'll try that then I remember on ebay there was one ( and the seller included ROJ and KOT ) for like $60-70 and I'm kicking myself right now for not getting it, but hopefully getting those won't be too much of a problem . I can't wait until the anniversary _________________

That was a good price. I remember the ROJ/KOT set was like...$35.99, which again, seemed like a lot at the time because DVD was so new and we were still use to VHS prices, but I wonder how much it would be today.
Soeaking of anniversaries, KOT came out today! |

I know! It's so awesome because it came out ten days after my birthday and I didn't realize it at the time It's the closest thing I have to an Aladdin-related birthday XD. _________________

They got married a week before mine, yay!
And I think Disneystrology says Aladdin's birthday is on the 8th, so if these dates were canon, that would have been one busy week in Agrabah. |

And all this time I've been saying it was on October 5th since it's Scott's XD.
That's really awesome--it's a day after my dad's "Hey dad, guess whose birthday's a day after yours?" "Whose?" "The guy I've been fangirling for all this time!" "...O.o" _________________

I got my gift set today and geeked out for like an hour in the midst of studying. My dad got curious when he saw the sketches which is funny because he only has a passing interest when I mention Aladdin _________________
