The 2012 Season is:

The Muny premiere of Disney's ALADDIN
Following upon the fantastic success of the Muny production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, The Muny presents its premiere of Disney's Aladdin. The Muny production will be only the third production of this new stage musical adapted from the beloved animated feature to be produced anywhere in the world. Disney's Aladdin features the favorite movie characters and all of the beloved songs from the film's Oscar®-winning score, plus never-before heard Menken/Ashman songs restored from early drafts of the film. Variety hailed this new full-length stage version of Aladdin as "fresh, funny and very entertaining."

Now I just need to figure out which of the new productions has cheapest flights from the UK and work out if my post-honeymoon budget can handle it!
On a honeymoon related note - has anyone else ever seen Aladdin and Jasmine take a guest on The Flying Carpets of Aladdin at Magic Kingdom? It took me completely by surprise (I thought Disney only had characters on rides in promotional videos, but the cast member said they try and do it with the first child every morning) and the look on the girl's face was magical! |

I really have to get better with the Muny cast. I've been watching the Tuacahn cast lately and neglecting the others.
I love the sets, but I'm not sure how I feel about those costumes save for Jafar's and Genie's.
These reviews sound pretty enthusiastic about the show, though, so this is definitely good news! Maybe we'll get a CD in the next five years instead of ten |
