Hey, those last 2 books are in Hungarian! Let's see what it says about them...
Okay so the second is basically just episodes in book format. The episodes that it covers are: To Cure a Thief, Raiders of the Lost Shark, probably Getting The Bugs Out (I say probably cause I try to get the summaries from the comments and that's the closest to the descriptions).
Likewise, the first imaeg is also just the book version of Getting The Bugs Out.
So don't worry, you don't miss on anything. Just surprised on the namings really. They are oversimplified and sometimes barely even touch on what the episodes are about compared to the English version. Like "varázskesztyű" means magic glove and while I got which episode it could be, it's really missing the point. Oh well, the actual dub for these episodes was good so whatever. _________________ You know your sanity is long gone when your favourites are a boy genius, a wacky genie, a mad man with a box and a deathberry |

You know, I actually forgot you were in Hungary. That would have saved me a night's worth of poor googling and researching
But that's really cool they made a book for the series! I know I've seen a mini comic of Sneeze The Day that came with the VHS tape of the series in America, but I guess as the internet becomes more connected we start to learn things we didn't otherwise know growing up in our own areas.
Now I'm looking around to see if I can find it on ebay or something >_>
And yeah, the google translation had me thinking these were new stories because of how obscure some of them sounded. Also I came across this photo from inside the book in Czech and thought it was a new story:

Yeah, google translate isn't the best in this case.
It is, although looking at the dates, these were made back in 1996, likely commitioned by Disney itself, though I don't think you likely see these on bookshelves these days. Heck, I went into one of the biggest bookshop today and barely found any purely Disney stuff.
Still, quite surprising they were actually translated. We usually don't really get these obscure stuff here, too niche to really sell it these days.
Yeah, the dub usually had the habit of having very different titles compared to what they originally were in English, also does not help that the series had 2 dubs (idk why really, but it's very noticable) and both had their different takes on some stuff like species name and such. It's very hard to find episodes these days so I mostly just stuck to the English version.
You know, I kinda wished we got new Aladdin stories, created by an actual passionate team that understands the world and its characters. If anything, I thought the LA version would bring some new life into it but almost 5 years in and barely anything. _________________ You know your sanity is long gone when your favourites are a boy genius, a wacky genie, a mad man with a box and a deathberry |

Yeah, all the places I'm finding them at seem to be third party sites that sell books. I've only found newer Aladdin books in stores. Never old ones like this.
And in so many languages! That's what is getting me. I have found them in at least six so far. I'm starting to think it was never made in English and this was a "international market" exclusive.
Wait, so they did a dub of the series and then did another dub of the series again? or one dub did some episodes and the other dub did some others? And yeah, if you didn't record them off the tv and digitally transfer them when they aired or were in reruns it's basically impossible to get ahold of them now. Doesn't help the show isn't on Disney+ so you can't even get subtitles.
There's been some new stories here and there, but the old book sets that we used to get doesn't really exist anymore because each movie (which was its own franchise) is now under the one big Disney Princess umbrella. So you're more likely to get a compilation book with all the princesses or princes or villains featured in stories than the comics or novels for the franchise itself like we got back then, sadly. |

Funny as I barely can find anything Aladdin related in my country and let alone in Hungarian besides the movies. Even the series is something I cannot find fully, just a few episodes here and there.
As for the dubbing it seems to be the latter case. I don't know why exactly happened like this as really the differences seems to be in translation and some VAs being different (like the more accurate translation has such a monotone voice for Aladdin, it hurts me). I was hoping back then that Disney+ would add the series on it, but aparently there's too many copyrights related to it that it keeps it away to actually add it on their platform.
Oh yeah, I kinda forgot that it's mostly Disney Princess brand that they use even for Aladdin. Bit of a shame really but guess this is why fanfics exist. _________________ You know your sanity is long gone when your favourites are a boy genius, a wacky genie, a mad man with a box and a deathberry |
