There's a lot of women who are still gorgeous, though old; as for Al - I think of Sean Connery. I like him 'old' much more than when he played J.Bond. So, for me age is not a problem. Yet I can't imagine Al old as well ))
Wow...that was REALLY good. And you say that was one of your earlier works? It's written like it's the work of a professional! You're really very talented!
My favorite fanfic of yours is now and probably will always be Aladdin in the 21st Century. I usually don't read time travel fics, but that one was superb! You wouldn't believe how pissed I was when I reviewed it on fanfiction.net and found that I was the only one there that had reviewed. I think it might be the best out of all your stories!
Did you ever read any of my fanfiction? I don't remember if you reviewed or not. The links to the story and it's sequel, which I'm still working on,are both in my siggy,so check it out!
Wow that was fast.
Speed reader? Well Extra Wish Granted was one of my first. I am not a professional
I just have alot of ideas in my mind. Yes, I have read one of yours and I did commented on them. I was the reviewer who said that I was born premature. It was a good story.
Idk, why not so many have commented it over there at fanfiction.net Maybe there was too much of a time travel stories that it was riduculous. But there were some that I really like such as "Once Upon a Time in New York." That was good, i just wish that the author would finish it and she hadn't touched it in years. It bugs me when I see a great fanfiction and it's never finished. That is why I am determine to always finish mines. It was funny, how you mentioned Aladdin in the 21st Century because 100 year Storm is it's sequel because of Venus returning. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! and I love to hear from you guys.

The problem for me is that I can't picture him as an old man, and I can't picture Jas as an old woman. Aladdin is too SEXY to get old!
Just picture Cassim and all is well
I think Cassim is sexy.

lol me too and that's where Aladdin gets his looks.

Gasp! Perish the thought!
I've never really thought about it....
Except for that time that AG had that really weird link to information about Al and co. "deaths" that some really weird fan wrote.
Actually that was me who found it the link.
But, I think Aladdin would nuts if he would lose Jasmine. Even wrote about Jasmine's death in one of my fanfics, Mozenrath hired someone to murder her and Al went on a rampage to destroy Mozey once and for all.

Contrary to popular belief, it is ok to remarry after your spouse has passed on. Of course you can't picture Aladdin remarrying, because Jasmine ain't dead. But it's highly possible that he would. Sure, he wouldn't run right out and get remarried, but it would happen eventually. And he'd still love Jasmine, no matter who he married.
It's not so much popular belief and remarrying as it is just him. Even if I did picture her dead, I still can't see it. I understand he has needs and he'll always love her, first love, not betraying her, etc blah blah, but he'd have to have a
damn
good reason to remarry

would not remarry. Later on, maybe after enough time has passed and he's had enough experiences that he changes his views on these things he might change his mind, but if he were to immediately remarry after Jas's death that would seem pretty OOC to me.
Agreed. I think it would depend on a lot of circumstances...how long had they been married? How did she die? Was it sudden, or did he have time to prepare? No matter what, he'd obviously be devastated, but I think there would be a lot that would factor into how he coped, whether or not he kept his position in the royal family, and whether or not he would remarry. I think he would probably keep his claim to the throne but not remarry if he and Jasmine had had children. Otherwise...well, he'd have quite a battle with himself. He would probably know that Jasmine wouldn't think that she was worth him giving up on his own chances for happiness, or the opportunity to make Agrabah better, but it would be extremely difficult for him to want to move on without her. If she died shortly after KoT but the Sultan outlived her, maybe Aladdin would find support from him.

It's kind of funny because in the first movie she was willing to run away and screw Agrabah over so that she wouldn't have to marry for political reasons and now I just couldn't imagine her doing that again.
I guess her priorities have really changed over those past two or three years...
I agree with both of you; she'd need time to mourn, but she would eventually realize that she couldn't leave Agrabah to fall apart after her own life ended. She may never love any second husband that she took the way she loved Aladdin, though I think she'd be able to open herself to the idea that she could at least feel affection for someone again. I think this older, wiser Jasmine would be more able to understand the necessity of remarriage and be much more open to the idea...even if not too excited about it...than when she had the birthday deadline approaching as a teenager.
And complete agreement that Jasmine's priorities did a lot of changing over the course of 2 or 3 years...I'd think that this may have started nagging at her after she learned that her actions had led to an innocent person's arrest and execution; not enough to get her to say "Fine, OK, here's another prince, I'll just marry him because look where more selfish actions have gotten me before..." but enough to make her start thinking that her actions did have consequences. I think being able to venture outside the palace once she had a suitor chosen made a huge difference as well; I think she was very resentful about being told she had to marry to rule a place she wasn't allowed to see or experience, but once she was able to understand Agrabah, her responsibility to the place and its people took on a personal meaning for her and she began thinking like a diplomat. (I think part of why she'd be willing to put Agrabah before Aladdin would also be because she knew Aladdin would take care of the 'fight for them to be together,' though I don't think she would have acted differently if he hadn't been so devoted. She definitely seemed changed and would have done what she needed to do to keep peace, she just was able to keep some hope she might not have had otherwise.

Thank you, Calluna. I can't imagine him running out and getting married immediately, but I can't imagine him staying single for the rest of his life. He needs as much love and affection as the next person... maybe more. We've seen how he cuddly he and Jasmine are.
