So when you guys watched ROJ for the very first time, did any of you fall for the part where "Jasmine" was accusing Aladdin of murdering the sultan? Well...I did. :oops: I mean, I know they didn't make it obvious that it was Jafar until you saw the real Jasmine locked up in that secret dungeon, but still, I remember watching that scene, and I was upset to think Jasmine would believe that he would do such a thing! I know she was upset about him lying about Iago being there, but hiding a fugitive bird is one thing, murdering your future father-in-law is another! I remember feeling terrible for Aladdin at that part. To think that the love of your life would just turn on you like that, and SENTENCE YOU TO DEATH :shock: I admit that for a tiny moment at that part, I hated Jasmine. Then they showed that it was Jafar and not really her, and I was relieved. Still you have to admit that was pretty suspenseful up until then.
Still frames are the stuff nightmares are made of.
The series is chock full of 'em, too.

I did once meet someone who was fooled by it over on the DisneySites messageboard. I saw her complaining about how OOC Jasmine was in RoJ, and when I asked her what she meant she said it was because Jasmine sentenced Aladdin to death. I guess she was so disgusted by seeing that that she turned off the tape and didn't watch the rest, and so never found out that it wasn't really Jasmine until I told her so.
RETURN OF JAFAR SPOILERS
And yes, I totally watched it frame by frame when I got the DVD. Some frames are just down right disturbing

Let me put it this way: I knew
something
was up when she started saying that Aladdin wanted to rule Agrabah, and I knew it probably involved Jafar, but I didn't think that it was actually Jafar in Jasmine's form. (So who else used to watch "Jasmine" change into Jafar frame by frame every time you watched RoJ? I know I wasn't the only one.
)

I might have when I was a little kid seeing it because Jasmine being highly pissed with Aladdin isn't a new thing (although death is a bit much and I probably didn't register what that really meant
), but I'm ok now. I know spoilers

I didn't believe that Jasmine was acting like herself then because Genie and Abu where captured by Jafar earlier in the movie I figured Jafar either replaced her by a clone or put a spell on her.
I love the drama in the whole sequence from Aladdin arriving back at the palace until just Genie saves the kid from sudden death. I mean for a cheap sequel and getting anything near the first movie yeah good drama.
