Few people realize this, but Agrabah is actually under a curse so that disaster occurs on a weekly basis if the princess is unwed by her sixteenth birthday. Either the Sultan never knew about the curse, or the Sultan was getting forgetful in his old age and forgot about it by the series. Once they tied the knot in KoT, the curse was once again put off. Most of them are after Agrabah/the throne, and while killing Jasmine/their child would devastate Aladdin...they still don't get what they want in the end. Whoo you've accomplished making Aladdin an emo panda, but he still has the throne. Everyone always worries that once Jasmine becomes pregnant (which will be the ultimate moment/time where Aladdin & co.'s defenses are at their weakest) that the series' villains would take advantage of that, and use that perfect advantage of that opportunity to strike and attack the team. But what about AFTER the baby's born? Aladdin & Jasmine can't stay awake 24 hours a day.
