I just re-watched "Armored and Dangerous" and it's really, really difficult to ignore how technically bad that episode is. Animation gaffes galore, strange sound mixing (example- you can clearly hear Scott Weinger's voice among the screaming Agrabanians at the start of the episode, when Aladdin being out of town is an early plot point), and odd palate choices (like the guard with the periwinkle skin... that's not normal  ) make the episode a difficult one to watch. That being said, I think it has a great story and some great character moments in it. For example, there's stuff on Agrabah's past (and it's not that hard to fit into the history, unlike trying to put the Witches and Amok into the chronology  ), we see how far Sultan will go to defend his kingdom, and Rasoul gets a shining hero moment. It's one of my favorite episodes, even though it's very, very difficult to not avert my gaze for all 22-minutes. My point is, what are some of your favorite "bad" episodes? Bad is entirely subjective, of course, and can pretty much be defined any way you want to define it. A&D, however, does make an excellent poster-child for the word.
I really can't think of any episode I didn't like. The animation in many of the episodes isn't the greatest but besides that I can't think of any that I just despised. I didn't really like the end of "Do the Rat Thing". I mean what is up with the Sultan?
One minute he'll take on
Amazon rejects
the Galafems singlehandedly and then he'll have a serious senior moment. I think he's just a wee bit senile but he's one of my favorite characters so that's fine XD. And then I didn't like how they re-used animation in "Web of Fear."

I don't like "Much Abu About Something" and "Never Say Nefir". They're really boring, unthinkingly (first) and stupid (second).

Coming to my favorites, "Do the Rat Thing",
"Garden of Evil"
"The Lost Ones", "The Book of Khartoum" and "The Ethereal" are at the top of my list. The Ethereal really made me cry after Jasmine "died". (Sorry for jumping off topic to favorites).
I agree! "Garden of Evil" is at the very top of my favorite list, as it's the highest quality episode (it terms of practically everything) from the series. It's the episode I'd show a curious stranger who wanted to get into the show/fandom.

I've always disliked "The Animal Kingdom" just because it was too weird for me. I do think the message is important, but animals talking intelligibly (as opposed to like Abu or Xerxes... we can make an exception for Gilbert Gottfried) just seems incongruous with the series.
I've also never been a fan of the Odifferans. Europeans going into the Middle East just reminded me too much of colonization. (Middle East history major here. Sorry!) although I do like that they become friends... and as one poster said, I love that Iago (and the whole series, pretty much) always makes fun of their intelligence. The excessive cheese jokes do make me roll my eyes a little. But I also love "That Stinking Feeling" - I like any episode about Al and Jas' relationship. I think the theme is cute.
I like Thundra as a character, but was always bothered by the fact that she's so much bigger than Iago, haha. It just doesn't make sense.

I've never seen an Aladdin episode I didn't like some aspect of. I'm serious.
Even when the animation got a little wonky, the plot or dialogue managed to be fun enough to distract me.
That said, dear god, what the hell is wrong with Mozenrath's face in Secret of Dagger Rock? Not that anyone looks their best in that episode but what is wrong with Mozenrath?

TAK reminds me a lot of Star Trek for some reason, and not just because Michael Dorn's in it. They seem to use
plots similar to this one
a lot. Same deal with "The Game", probably because Ding and Oopo remind me of Q.

I've wanted to use his arguments in conversation, just to see how far I can get with it.

I hated that episode the first time I saw it (because it made Iago look ridiculous) and the second time it became my favorite episode for quite awhile because of the humor. I didn't pay much attention to the animation quality in those days... It's definitely a guilty pleasure now, although some parts are even funnier to me after I had to take all those theology classes and found out what exactly some of those scenes were referencing...

I just re-watched "Poor Iago" and totally forgot that Rasoul becomes a black man for a frame.
This episode definitely represents a "bad" episode to me... I really like it, even if it's a bit odd and the animation is hideous. This bit is still one of my favorites in the series:
Farouk: We shall tar and feather him!
Omar: He's already got feathers.
Farouk: ... then we shall pluck him, then tar and RE-feather him!
(They exit)
Rasoul: We'll roast that bird over a small fire!
Fazal: Mmmm, roast parrot, my favorite!
(They exit)
Aladdin: DDDD: You're just supposed to arrest him!

That is exactly where and when I bought my tapes as well.
I never got a necklace from them, though. Just a magic lamp necklace that came with a book.

And I still wear my Princess Jasmine necklace that I got with a princess video like 13 years ago.
Aw, I have one of those somewhere. Kmart had a sale on old Princess VHS tapes like 8 years ago and I got to pick up at the Jasmine ones... good times. Back in the days where I didn't have Toon Disney/sketchy activity and was at the mercy of the Disney product line to get a series fix.

Anyway, "I'm Lookin Out For Me" is the song I sing to myself when I've had enough of people. (We all have those days.) And I just love "You're Only Second Rate."
That is BRILLIANT!! I feel like I reallly need that right now.
Thanks for the idea!!

And here is a clip of the stupid "Good teenagers..." clip.

I'm almost 100% sure if you type in something like 'aladdin take off your clothes' or 'disney subliminal messages' or something close to those on youtube, you'll find it
There's no way someone's not going to let that disappear, which I don't particularly mind because that was what was there for years, but Disney bleeping it out on the DVD only really gives those people who do think he's saying it more reassurance because now it looks like they're hiding it
