Arbutus is seriously the closest the series gets to an
Anti-Villain
(pardon my Tropish). He might have even let Jasmine go if Aladdin hadn't been all "RAAAH SMASH EVIL." What was that about the difference between how the Odifferans solve problems and how you solve them, Aladdin?
My favorite recurring characters are Mozenrath and, oddly, Haroud. I don't like Abis Mal very much, but Haroud makes his episodes so much more watchable. He really should have ditched Abis Mal and become a villain on his own. But then, Agrabah gets destroyed/taken over enough as it is.

I agree. Him only being in episode adds to the mystique that perhaps he isn't totally evil, and more episodes would have taken away the mystery. His death and the planting of his rose is strangely beautiful too.

That video sums up why I like Mozenrath so much. He's so sarcastic sometimes and his lines are always clever. He's one of the few people who can shut Jasmine up XD. "Princesses should be seen and not heard."
"The Garden of Evil" really was one of the better episodes. I kind of wish we saw more of Arbitus but he has a more powerful effect because he was only in the series once, and was one of the few villains who were actually killed off.

Agreed. He had a lot of depth and mystery to him that he took with him to the grave. "My rose will always bloom."

Jafar was just an amazing villain. I have this sort of admiration/hate thing going on becuase he always kicks my butt in Kingdom Hearts XD. But if they had put him in the series instead of killing him off then that would have taken away from his image. I mean it's like "Oh, it's Jafar. Him again?" He's like the only villain I could take seriously ( except Frollo because that dude just gave me the creeps XD ) and he actually did have a well-thought out plan and a sensible goal. Plus he has the best henchman ever. I <3 Iago.
But the series villains were great substitutes. My ultimate favorite is Mozenrath because he's such an enigma. The only thing we know about his past is that he defeated Destane and turned him into a mamluk before taking his kingdom. He's so cool and collected and he has some of the best lines ever! "Oh, look it's the royal pain..haha, if looks could bruise.." I loved the Secret of Dagger Rock, and how he so stupidly underestimated Jasmine. Is it just me or did anyone else get the impression he has a thing for Jasmine? I nearly fell out of my chair when he said, "By the time I'm through, Princess, you'll have given me everything." And some people say there were subliminal messages in the film
.
My second favorite is Mirage because she's..evil incarnate. Her plans are really nonsensical sometimes, but she was in my absolute favorite episode--"Eye of the Beholder." I did like her 'test.'
I hesitate to call Sadira a "villain" because all she wants is Aladdin ( who doesn't? ), but her means aren't the most morally right. But I can totally relate to her XD. I do like the fact that she gave up and became friends with Al and Jas at some point. She's one of my favorite characters in general in the series.
Abis Mal and Mechanicles are at a tie. They're both hilarious and I did enjoy "The Flawed Couple" because we got to see them both in the same episode. Mechanicles's OCD cracks me up. "Getting the Bugs Out" is one of my favorites. I just love when Jas and co are messing up his house and he goes crazy
I feel sorry for Amin Damoola most of the time. I mean all he wanted was to be a respected thief. Is that too much to ask? I love how he says monkey XD.
Arbitus is my favorite one-time villain. Somebody needs to put him and Moze in Kingdom Hearts. Now. Though with the latter it just wouldn't be the same without Jonathan Brandis

I guess I just have to leave lurker land for a while to cast a vote for Mechanikles. He's easily my favourite cartoon character of all time and I just adore him to *bits*. I've always liked him, but I went through a short Mozenrath phase as a teenager before I returned to liking the greatest of the great Greek geniuses.
I don't really know why I like him so much. He's very one-dimensional, has no backstory and he's pretty much a one-gimmick character. Yet I find him utterly hilarious, I love his OCD, his lines, his adoration for his creations, Scooter... pretty much everything he does. The only reason I'm not wasting all my time writing fanfiction about him is that it's boring to fangirl a character alone and I'm having too much fun in the Kim Possible fandom at the moment.

Aha! Why thank you!
(Nice Pocahontas reference btw lol)
Yeah I love the little parodies
Hercules and the Arabian Night is chock full o' them.
... Parodies and references in episodes... Sounds like someone should make that into a thread.
But I'm pooped and about to lose the will to not sleep. It's 12:30am over here... Night!

"To Cure a Thief"
"Scare Necessities"
"Sneeze the Day" (Probably the one you missed; he's part of an awesome parody of the first film at the beginning. "All this for a gigantic diamond?!"
)
"Vocal Hero"

He's not quite as awesome as Jafar, but Mozenrath was an acceptable substitute.
Also? I think he only got two episodes, but Amin Damoolah is funny. I love the way he says "Guess who has a magic belt of invisibility!"
And now that I think about it, it sounds like "I've got a jar of dirt! I've got a jar of dirt! And guess what's inside it!" Someone needs to remix those two lines together.

I think I'm gonna go with (in no specific order) Zorastro, Mosenrath, Mirage, the genie hunter, and Haroud.
I just really like the episode "Riders Redux." I think a desert rider with a magical hourglass is AWESOME. He is also competent and isn't a softy.
Mosenrath? Cool character. I like all of the episodes. Not a whole lot to say here.
Mirage? Also a cool character. She is sly and kind of pretty and mysterious. She is fun to imagine as a human... Probably would be a fun picture to draw.
The genie hunter (the name escapes me) is a deep character I think. He's old and wise and his change of heart is rather touching.
I just like Haroud because, without him, I wouldn't be able to stand Abis Mal. It's funny when Abis Mal takes his ideas or Haroud gives him the obvious answers, obviously thinking "this guy is a total idiot," but keeping his cool... I really wish there had been more development with him. A change of heart maybe? (either he turns good or finally revolts against Abis Mal)
Sadira is a very good one to write fanfiction about, but I find her annoying. I get enough petty teenage drama in my own life.
