[quote="Joblom"][quote="Jasmine9"] And although it's a bit anachronistic, couldn't you guys totally see Jafar and Mirage hooking up? I love that artist. I have fav'd like half of her gallery.
I never liked the idea of pairing Moz with Jasmine or Sadira, but it's been growing on me that more I see fanart about it.

I don't know, I have trouble shipping Mozenrath with anyone. I just recently started kinda liking Mozenrath/Sadira through fanart, but he just doesn't come off to me as being someone who would do well in a relationship, particularly with the members of the gang. I feel like their personalities are opposites, but not in a complimentary way.

No, but you're on the right track! He was the leader of the Marauders.

No, what she meant is that Aladdin and Mozenrath being brothers is just a rumor.

True, but I like the idea of Mozenrath & Jasmine's relationship having a Bonnie & Clyde type of feel to it, even if it is someone else's fanon POV of how their relationship would play out
! IMHO I can see why that person would view them that way just based on how they physically compliment each other alone.
I'd really love the couple
more
If Mozenrath were good & had the flesh & muscle back on his hand
.
Edit: If you were talking about the Aladdin & Mozenrath just being brothers thing being a piece of fanon that I don't have to use if I don't want too, I
still
personally see it as partially-canon since it was in the original script to KoT before Robin Williams came back. Even if I did write my own Aladdin & Mozenrath fanfiction the thought of Aladdin & Mozenrath possibly being brothers will always be a thought in the back of my mind ever since I had found out/read the info for the original script to KoT, so I think that either way (canon or fanon) I will always sorta view them as brothers.

Psst, that's just a piece of fanon. You don't have to use it if you don't want to.

Mozenrath x Jasmine
Mozenrath x Sadira
Aladdin x Sadira
are my favorite ones
! I could never ship the Aladdin x Mozenrath one after finding out that they could be brothers
.
Also fanart drawings & pictures of Mozenrath x Jasmine on deviantart.com made me really like the couple.

Their looks really complement each other moreso than Aladdin x Jasmine IMHO, and they seem to have this sorta Bonnie & Clyde/equal dynamic & feel to their relationship.

I think it's probably been... oh... a decade since I watched Aladdin. Nonetheless, I really think that he was just showing off his power at the end. I'm sure that Jafar could be attracted to someone, maybe even more than just physically, but I don't think he could ever
love
someone. At least, not in a caring sort of way, if that makes any sense. Most villainous people probably aren't capable of that.
It might make for an interesting story though, however I can't imagine Disney wanting to pick that up.

I can never really get past it in my own mind that he probably thought she was a complete pain in the ass, and wouldn't want anything to do with her past what he needs her for, and in the case of the movie, a faster way of getting to the throne to become sultan once that idea was planted in his head.
Once he got to that point and then some without her, everything after was a display of his unstoppable power and how she (or her father, really) can't do anything about it this time, his ability to force a very proud and headstrong person into submission when he's more than aware she doesn't like that and has been fighting against submitting to something or someone she doesn't want to the whole movie (which might have been where all that sexual frustration came from as a result. A fiery and independent person like Jasmine being basically your slave and doing
whatever
you want after so much resistance? Oh yeah, he'd be all for that. He likes that sort of thing
), and his dominance over her when he's now the one calling the shots and she's the one force to comply. Not that I can't ever see him being attracted to
someone
, but Jafar's dealings with Jasmine would be strictly business. Twisted business in some cases probably, but business. If anyone grew a soft spot for Jasmine in the palace, it was Iago
I've also entertained the notion that he was just ever so tipsy when he was talking to Jasmine and some of that was the alcohol talking (which I'm surprised no one has ever yelled at this movie for. Maybe they remembered the Caliphs had wine, too, when they shouldn't be since that's a big religious no-no
. That might be reading more into the power thing, too).

I can see this angle, but I always kind of thought Jafar still had a thing for Jasmine regardless - like from the fact that he wished, at the end of the first movie,"for Princess Jasmine to fall desperately in love" with him, despite the fact that he no longer needed her for any kind of power (as he was "the most powerful sorcerer in the world"). Although it could just be that he's physically attracted to her (I can't really imagine a sociopath like Jafar having real feelings of love) or it could be some kind of status thing ("look at me I have power and a hot princess!"), or adding insult to injury against the royal family ("I took over your throne
and
your daughter! Huzzah!"), or it could be simple malice and spite.

Meh, ff.net is flooded with Jasmine or Aladdin/Jafar stuff, too, but this fandom is small enough that coming up with a pairing and getting a couple fans for it is going to be half way on the way to unconventional anyways.
Jasmine x Jafar would be pretty depressing I imagine. Jafar it seems is the kind of the bureaucrat to marry purely for practical reasons. He'd have none of that Disney happily ever after nonsense.

Hey, no booing flutes! I'm a professional flutist! (Insert joke here, here, and here, haha).
Sorry I keep coming around and resurrecting ooold topics... this website is not only addictive but a safe-house for those of us who reeeally don't want to be too old to obsess over Aladdin! (I made an Aladdin joke to my 12-year-old flute student the other day and she had no idea what I was talking about. Not only was it incredibly depressing, but it's the first time in my twenty-one years I've felt old...)
Anyway, getting back on topic...
I fully support the theory that Iago has a crush on Jasmine. I always thought that during "Eye of the Beholder" because it was just so out of the blue for Iago to freak out about (that said, it was probably just for plot purposes) but then I also noticed it in the episode where Abis Mal and Mechanicles team up (I think it was "The Flawed Couple") and put those mood stones on the gang. Iago falls in love with Jasmine. Although it was just because of the stone, I always liked to think it had been deep in his subconscious for a long time
.
I also like the idea of Jasmine having a crush on Jafar as a little girl. He has a certain regal-ness about him. I couldn't really see her going for Rasoul, with the missing tooth and all, haha.
I really like the Jasmine/Mozenrath idea but I think it would have to be sneaky. If someone hasn't already done this in a fan-fic, I think it would be a great idea: Mozenrath tricking Jasmine by switching bodies with Aladdin (IE "Two to Tangle") and then marrying her or something. I mean she'd eventually figure it out and totally destroy him, but it would make a great fan-fic! I also like the Mozenrath-Sadira combo, because as street smart as Sadira is, she seems kind of naive and, from a psychological standpoint (I know, I'm a nerd) could be very vulnerable to someone as powerful as Mozenrath.
And although it's a bit anachronistic, couldn't you guys totally see Jafar and Mirage hooking up? They're both the same kind of evil.
