I think Aladdin has definitely courted girls before Jasmine but I don't think he's had meaningless flings. He seems like a real romantic, just judging by his reaction to seeing Jasmine from the fruit stand. It was like he melted  And when he was in the dungeon, he was beating himself up about sounding stupid to Jasmine and said she deserved someone better than him. I hate to say this but all of that reminds me of those annoying lovey dovey facebook updates that some people do but I'd like to think Aladdin is cooler than that
This thread reminds me of a post we had here years ago when some ex-poster tried to argue that when Aladdin and Jasmine first saw each other, they had the look of "purely virginal eyes" or something like that, and got upset when anyone said anything differently. It was hilarious
I've never read that one. If you could ever find that thread again and give us a link to it, I would love you forever, so much!
He probably could have done that..there are so many loopholes in the invisible book of Genie rules XD. I mean Genies can't raise people from the dead, but couldn't you ask to be the most powerful necromancer in the world? But I don't think he's the type to do that sort of thing. I can't really see that going well.
I'm trying to picture Jasmine's reaction if they kept that part from the original story

That reminds me of the original story where Aladdin had the genie bring the vizier's son and the princess back to his house in their bed, had the guy sent to the privy for the night, and slept in the bed with the princess to make sure they didn't consumate the marriage before Aladdin had a chance to marry her. He succeeded, but it didn't exactly make the princess like him because she was too horrified at the entire situation

Now that's something. Genie said he couldn't make anyone fall in love, however, could Al have wished, instead of making him a prince, but could he have made a wish to just be married to her? It's always seemed to me that the rules for Genie, that they shouldn't involve other people, kill, fall in love, or bring people back from the dead, but could he have 'married' Aladdin and Jasmine. That's not exactly making them fall in love, after all.

That was like, the most romantic scene in Disney history. Every time I watch it, it makes me like, 'the perfect end to the perfect date' kind of thing.

I think he was at least in the process of falling in love with Jasmine by the time he started describing her to Genie. But I do think he did care for her before. They had ridiculous chemistry during the hovel scene..but not only that, but they sort of found a common ground ( they both were trapped ) and shared that connection. Back when they were running from the guards after the incident in the hovel, he told Jasmine to run and then let the guards catch him. I don't know exactly where to draw the line but I think it's safe to say that after "A Whole New World" and the kiss on the balcony, he does love her.

I do suppose you're right. After all, when they were in the hovel he did seem not as nervous or anything. Although he wasn't exactly flirting. I wonder like where you would, like, draw the line? Like, when he actually did fall for Jasmine. I would suppose it was before he knew she was the princess? In the dungeon when Abu 'rescued' him, it sounded like he was already kind of falling in love if not already in love.

I certainly do think that Al did have a few ( or quite a few
) other girls in his past, but I don't think that he was really truly in love with them. I don't really think he could
afford
( for lack of a better word ) to fall in love because he was always on the run from the guards. I do think he had some flings but nothing really big. I think the reason why he had a little trouble with Jasmine was because he actually was falling for her and she wasn't just some casual fling--that combined with the fact that she was the Princess and not just some random girl XD.

I am convinced there have been girls in Al's past, however, it is rather puzzling how he was a bit nervous when Jasmine was kind flirting I guess is the word on the balcony. Right before she pulled his turban and cape over his face. I would have thought he knew how to flirt and all that. Yet with Jasmine Genie had to give him a hand while disgsuised as a bee.

That's a funny search
But yeah, it still won't even show me the threads it's finding cause when I put in that and the user name, it says there's five posts, but none of them show up.

I just tried searching keywords like "virgin" looking for that post, and it didn't let me open most of the threads.

Maybe Meesh can show you the thread she found that won't let her open it because I can't even get that.
Hmm, the way I used to fix that glitch isn't working...

Sometimes I can fix them by clipping out the first post; which thread are you having trouble with?
