I never noticed that. Laughing I bet Jasmine wishes shed' known about that long ago...

...and Cassim and Iago and Amal. They all fell into the Antihero Void. Laughing

Anyway, I'm pretty worried about those two; they took off after Aziz and then only Aziz came back. Sad They're either off on a wild goose chase somewhere or Aziz killed them.

Why did Rasoul never show up again in general? Rasoul not trying to attack Jafar at all is OOC for him, unless he got stuck at the end of the city, guarding the gates, when the palace got lifted. But then again, wouldn't Rasoul have been near the Sultan, especially with Jafar being loose?

I guess it would make sense for there to be a lot of guards at the gate in that situation, if they thought Jafar was already out of the palace and wanted to catch him trying to leave the city. If he didn't have the lamp there'd be no reason for him to stick around, just grab as much stuff as he can and get out of Dodge (which is what Iago wanted to do Laughing ).

My personal theory is that Rasoul wasn't back yet before they jumped to the conclusion that Jafar had already left the building. Sultan didn't know about all of the secret passages and certainly didn't know about the lab, so they could have checked everywhere they knew, assumed he was gone, and took the search for him out into the city, leaving the Sultan to go on with business as usual inside the palace.

So Rasoul gets back sometime that morning, hears the news from whatever guards are on the gate, goes through a brief period of denial about his friend Jafar being a traitor (because this is Rasoul we're talking about), then made a beeline for the lab. But by that point Jafar'd already left the lab and was hiding out in a part of the palace that had already been searched while Iago got the lamp for him (he sent Rasoul out there, he knew when he'd probably be back). So my guess was that the guards were off in the secret passages searching for Jafar there when the palace got lifted, and either they got left on the ground, or got thrown in the dungeon, or were off doing something else that wasn't relevant to what was happening to Aladdin so didn't make it into the movie.

But anyway that's my theory; there are a lot of different ways that could have played out.

I wondered that as well. I actually wanted to see them again, even if just a hint or something.

That'd be bad, and sounds stupid. I bet the rooms may have changed over time, and personal rooms moved around. That may not have always been the princess's room. Still, having that much access to any personal quarters is still stupid.

I just watched this one today, so I might as well post the thoughts I've probably posted before:

- Aziz has quite a violent death. Aladdin certainly enjoys making him explode. Laughing

- Is it really a good idea to have a secret passage from the dungeon to the princess's chambers? Some random prisoner escaping, finding this passage, and entering Jasmine's room wouldn't be a good thing. Laughing

- What the hell happened to Minos and Fatima, anyway? They're gonna find Aziz? Uh, alright. Laughing I guess they're in a mysterious void somewhere, along with Malcho, who *will* get that revenge on Aladdin one day. Laughing (Maybe that's where Aladdin/Genie are during this new Jasmine animation-- kicking Malcho's butt off camera or something. Laughing)

And I response to something posted a long time ago ('cause I'm on top of stuff like that):

So why didn't he go there right away to arrest Jafar way back in the first movie as soon as they found out he was evil? Shocked

Slim possibility Jafar had found one that Rasoul had missed. Very, very slim possibility.

Only other explanation, Rasoul may have figured Jafar wouldn't be crazy enough to come back and would have hot footed it out of town to avoid capture.
Or maybe Jafar left the lab before Rasoul got back? That cliff looked like it was a few miles out of town...

Anyway, I just thought it was ironic that the only pro-Rasoul episode is the one that had possible evidence of him being a traitor. Laughing

Ah, you're probably right. Very Happy

Oh, here's one I know I've never told anyone, because I know it'd get used against me. Laughing

So, in Destiny on Fire, Rasoul knows all the secret passages in the palace, right?

So he must have known about Jafar's lab, right?

So why didn't he go there right away to arrest Jafar way back in the first movie as soon as they found out he was evil? Shocked

The episode tournaments, perhaps? I use to have mini discussions there....

I can't remember exactly where, but you know I never miss an opportunity to talk about Rasoul. Laughing

Yes, that is true. Laughing I think we can all agree that continuity is not always consistent between episodes, let alone films. If you can point me to where you have commented (I shouldn't be surprised it has been discussed at some point before), I'd like to read it.

Uh, wow, what can I say about this that I haven't already said several times? Laughing

So, in this episode Al and Rasoul become friends, but afterwards, in Riders Redux and KoT, they're back to hating each other as much as they did in the first movie. What the hell happened? Laughing

Yep, I'm putting up another episode discussion post. Embarassed This time, "Destiny on Fire." I'm going to wait to put up all my thoughts (and re-watch my recording of it) until after there are a couple of other remarks on the episode. I will say this: I liked it as one of the few, if not only, Rasoul centered episodes we get.
