...that I didn't notice about Aladdin until I'd seen them several times:
- There is no new animation in the opening sequence of "Web of Fear". It's a pastiche of animation from RoJ, "Never Say Nefir", and "Much Abu About Something". Either that or the Club Nest Egg and the statue of the Liberator have been moved to Agrabah.
- The scene in "Fowl Weather" where Iago first kisses Thundra? Parody of the scene in the first movie where Jasmine kisses Jafar.
- Hippsodeth = Hips of Death
- Mozenrath = Motz and Roth = Bill Motz and Bob Roth, series writers (I'd always referred to them by their first names...)
- Amin Dimoola has the same accent as Inspecter Clusaeu (sp?) from the Pink Panther movies (including "thif" and "minkey")
Anyone else have experiences like these? I can't be the only oblivious one. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus

That Genie saying "It's all so magical" in KOT was a reference to the first film... seriously. Took me FOREVER to figure that out. *Shrugs*

I always figured the Hips of Death one. I know cause I have a few myself...
I like to think the episode "The Animal Kingdom" is a referrence to the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World, but that could be stretching it.
When Genie turns into a parade float in "Opposites Detract", it's the same one from Aladdin's Royal Carvan at Walt Disney World when it was still around. *kills someone for not having it when I was there* A picture of it is on disc 2 of the DVD.
I know I've discovered more, I just can't think of them right now. |

Something I noticed is you know how Aladdin set Genie free and the arm braces were off him??
Well in the other movies and the TV series he has them on??

Yeah, they did that because his hands looked weird when he wasn't wearing them. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Which was the one where they were boating down a river? I can't recall which one it was, but they did some SERIOUS Jungle Cruise parodying. "Back side of water," "the most dangerous part of the journey - the drive home!" all direct quotes from the ride. I was waiting for the guys to be chased up a pole by a rhino! _________________ I don't need intelligent drugs, because I don't know what they are. They were charting a river in "In the Heat of the Fright", but I don't remember those quotes being in it. *Brain fogs up* _________________

I didn't know that one! I think the one you are talking about is "In The Heat Of The Fright" with Mirage's first ep.
Both Cassim and the sultan both call Aladdin and Jasmine their treasures. |

In "The Great Rift", Sultan goes back on it though, calling Agrabah his "Greatest treasure"... unless TGR came before GOE... _________________

No no no, it was "Rain of Terror". Yanno, first Malcho ep. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Hmmm... just went back and skimmed through In te Heat of the Fright... that was the one I was thinking of, but maybe it was in a different ep. I know I heard them, though! I think I even mentioned it to AG on AIM as I saw it. _________________ I don't need intelligent drugs, because I don't know what they are. Ah! You're right, it's "Rain of Terror," around halfway through. _________________ I don't need intelligent drugs, because I don't know what they are. But I will put anything into my mouth that is given to me, whether it's supposed to go there or not. Because... I'm different. |

You know he can't remember anything he says within the span of three days
The most blatantly obvious references:
The opening to "Vocal Hero" which is a huge parody to Aladdin's entrance in the first film.
Jasmine's red hair in "Elemental, My Dear Jasmine" is Ariel's hair.
Iago's line to Thundra about "If I don't leave now, I'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow.." is a reference to the movie Casablanca. |
