This is random, but it's a thought that HAS crossed my mind, in some fleeting moments...So I thought I'd put it up here and see what others thought...What zodiac sign would you label, according to characteristics, to each Aladdin character?

Jafar - Gemini or Scorpio
Aladdin - Aries or Gemini
Jasmine - Leo or Virgo... heck, probably both simultaneously.
Iago - Capricorn
Abu - Sagittarius or Taurus

I'd recommend reading this site. Right now I seem to be coming down with a bug, so if I actually tried to explain anything, I'd probably just end up babbling senselessly.

But I will say this about Geminis - Vincent Price. Jafar strikes me as being very Vincent Price-ish in some ways.

Oh, astrology! This thread might be dead, but I’ll post anyway…

Sorry if I go all astrology-geek now but I've read a few books and I'm very interested in the subject. Here’s some thoughs…


Aladdin: Very much a Sagittarius. Moon in Libra, maybe a Leo rising.

This is basic, but here’s a description of Sag. from café astrology :


“Restless, cheerful, and friendly, Sun in Sagittarius people are generally on the go. They have a love of freedom, and a disdain for routine. Generally quite easygoing, Sagittarians make friends with people from all walks of life. They love to laugh and tease, and get along well with both sexes.

I’m not sure on the rest of the gang at all, I just have some loose guesses. ^^;

Jasmine: I can’t place her :S Pisces? (Linda Larkin’s a pisces), Virgo? Some old AML post suggested Aries... There’s at least a lot of fire sign influence. I would like to hear your thoughs.

Iago : Capricorn! He might have some pisces influence…

Genie: Cancer maybe, (they’re great comedians, and Robin Williams’s a Cancer) or Gemini? (Born on the cusp?)

Carpet: For some reason I want to say Virgo? But I’ve no idea.

Abu: My first guess is Taurus.

If Aladdin were a Sagittarius, that could explain his tendency toward hoof-in-mouth disease.

I notice that Aladdin aside, your list is pretty close to mine... and I'm not even an 'astrology geek.'

...Maybe the Scorpio intuition IS all it's cracked up to be.

Whoa... I just looked at that site... they should do something about their Leo picture; for a few seconds I thought I was staring into some stylized butthole. Yes, seriously.
