How about this? I'll get my act together and get the first half of the fanfic written within the next month, and I'll let you look at it, critique it, threaten me with painful death for the absurdity of it, and then I'll say. |
That's a deal! I have a fetish for odd pairings.

Yeah, you pretty much have to turn Mozenrath good or Sadira evil to make it work; I've seen a few that had them as a couple sometime before Witch Way Did She Go? and it always seemed like a stretch. It would be interesting if someone could make it work, though. |
Slightly OT, but I've always wanted to have a "strange pairing marathon" in which everyone draws two names from a hat and has to attempt a decent pairing fic with those two characters. So much fun could come from that. _________________ "Now nothing will stand in the way of DOING THE DISHES!" |

It'd be an interesting challenge to say the least. And fun if people can think outside of the purely romantic idea of a pairing. I'd be up for it. |

Me too. If more people find it interesting, we could actually do it. It's more fun with lots of participants -- and pairings. _________________ "Now nothing will stand in the way of DOING THE DISHES!" |

I'm up for it. But IMO it would work best if you put a word limit on it; people would be more likely to actually finish. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Good idea. I'll make a thread about it. _________________ "Now nothing will stand in the way of DOING THE DISHES!" |

I think this episode is probably best watched as a "sequence"; IOW, "Strike Up the Sand", "Sandswitched", and THEN "Don Quixote" and "Which Way Did She Go?" because it comes across very much like a fleshed out character arc; watching these episodes individually and in random order feels somewhat unsatisfying to me.
That said, I do think the Sadira storyline makes for a far more interesting arc than, say, any episode with those cheese-loving barbarians, because Sadira comes across as a very well realized, interesting character who changes and matures through her relationships with Aladdin and Jasmine. The Odiferians(sp?) didn't captivate me at all.

I have to agree with that. The Odiferan episodes are probably my least favorite "group" of episodes (though Frozen North and/or Ayam Aghoul episodes vie for the title). There's some fun gags in the Odiferan episodes, but the characters themselves (with the exceptions of Runtar and Gouda) didn't impress me. _________________
