I just found this interesting tid bit on a website located here.

Top 10 Pirate Songs Part Deux

10. "It's Great To Be A Pirate" - written by Richard Marcus and Johnny Caruso

According to the infamous Talk Like A Pirate Day website this little gem was initially penned for one of the number of sequels to Disney's Aladdin. Sadly, the sequel in question didn't get made and this gem fell into the deep blue, forgotten ether of Davy Jones' treasure chest of lost songs.

....uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Anyone ever heard about any lost Aladdin sequels about pirates? Or maybe they're just confused because Ted and Terry worked on Aladdin and then created the greatness that is Pirates of the Carribean?

It would've worked if team Aladdin had set sail for open water. Captain Aladdin and his crew of land... insert some pirate-like word. Or if the series production developed a pirate episode with song inserted.
IGN didn't do their homework properly.

And it says...

This tarrrrrrriffic pirate song was written by Richard Marcus and Johnny Caruso on spec for a never-produced sequel to Disney's Aladdin, and has been sittin' in their treasure chest ever since.

"On spec" means, they wrote it on their own and then tried to sell it to Disney. So it's professional fanfiction, basically. Laughing

That's kind of cool, I didn't know anyone had tried to do that. Laughing

I would pay to be spared from it. If the rest of their 'movie' was as uninspired and generic as that song, I get the feeling it was a real turkey.
