I *finally* got around to ripping this.
This is a video of the "Princess Jasmine's Royal Guard Recruitment" show, which was featured at Walt Disney World's "Pirate and Princess Party" earlier this year. Basically, you join the Royal Guard to protect Jasmine from Jafar (who, at least for the sake of this show, has a Bowser thing going on).
When I first heard about this show (on my first night of training at the Emporium on Main Street), I was... well, horrified. "How badly are they going to rape our fandom?! D: D: D: D:" Then, I saw it with AladdinsGenie and..... yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah. Let's just say that the Aladdin in this show has become a hobby of ours because he's OMFG PERFECT. *Cough* Yeeaaah.
But, yes, the video. XD

Side note: This seems to be one of the earliest performances of this show, because elements of it (at least, acting-wise) were different the, uh, four times that I saw it. So, forgive Hakim and his dialogue-duffing.
Oh, and other side note: my description on the video says that the parties are running from August to October, when they're actually only running from August 11 to September 3. Whooops. _________________

Great show. Poor Jafar though, such humanization. |

Jafar moves entirely too much, but I get why he had to. |

Yep. What a way to be defeated. It was a rather fun show to watch, probably more fun to take part in. _________________ "Hey! What's a seven letter word for hit television show beginning with A?" -- Genie |

Oh, man, I'm laughing my ass off over here. "Carpet's double parked" has gotta be the greatest line ever said by Aladdin in anything. Forget the movies, forget the series, he just said that Carpet is double parked and demonstrated that it is not impossible for funny lines to come from Aladdin. |

Nah, hobby would be the right word. Okay, maybe obsession is more appropriate, but I'm not gonna go there right now. <3 _________________

My opinion of it went down slightly after I'd seen the whole thing, as that is not an in-character way to 'defeat' Jafar. I see that being funny was the whole point, but...I have serious problems with seeing Jafar turned into a caricatural villain who can be defeated that easily. |

Wait, what wasn't a in-character way to defeat Jafar?
The only thing that bugs me is how much Jafar was moving (and even more in other showings). He doesn't strike me as the type to be really physical and really fight that much. |

Hm... their Aladdin isn't too bad, even if he does call to mind some strange cocktail between the actual Aladdin, the pirate from Ray Stevens's pirate song, and Nog the Ferengi...
Yeah, Jafar went down pretty easy, but the show was for the benefit of the kiddies in the audience... not those of us with deep, meaningful understandings of Jafar's inner cogs and wheels. _________________

Seriously, Jafar isn't really *that* hard to defeat. I mean, he was easily tricked by Aladdin at the end of the original film. Pattern repeats itself in "Hercules and the Arabian Night" and, while it doesn't in ROJ, Jafar proves himself to be really, really bad at planning out attacks and following through. That's Iago's job.
Besides, I think Jafar's defeat in the show is pretty fun; Jafar puns him in the film, Aladdin puns him here.
Hey, at least he's pretty good with that badass sword. _________________
