Hello everyone! I have allways been huge fan of Sa'luk and got some stupid questions about him What do you think are the violet things under he's eyes, do you think its because he hasn't been sleeped? Do you know does word "Sa'luk" mean something? How do you think he got his muscles since there was no weights to lift then? And last, how's the quote goes when Cassim says "Someone had to keep cool head, Sa'luk", what Sa'luk does answer? Something about no head, but I cant remember.
THANK YOU! |

*waits for Salukfan to find this thread*
But I can tell you about his name. Saluk was an ancient Arabian city. So that's where I'm guessing they got his name from. |

I googled Sa'luk once and kept getting a lot of pages about some Arabian Nights version of Dungeons and Dragons, and according to that "sa'luk" meant a type of thief. But there are a handful of native Arabic speakers floating around here on the board so maybe they can give you a better translation.
It could be lack of sleep, but some people just get permanent bags under their eyes like that as they age (see also: all the palace guards ).
I believe the line you're looking for is "someone will have no head if this is another wild goose chase". _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

If you wrote the name correctly, I would have had a heart attack. _________________

From Wikipedia: "In Arabic, his name means "a poor low-life thief with no job/work/income that owns nothing.""
Cool word for thief But Sa'luk got some incomes when they robbed the palace, and he owns those cool knucklebusters! |

Actually, the Forty Thieves got *nothing* when they raided the palace, which is why Sa'luk was so damn pissed off.
I do wonder if that name thing is correct, however, since I've tried to find the name myself online and came up with nothing. But if it is accurate, they picked a perfect name for him. _________________

Just because nobody had dumbbells lying around during the medieval period doesn't mean there weren't other heavy objects to lift, y'know. The dedicated bodybuilder would be able to improvise using ordinary objects lying around - like rocks, bags of sand, etc. _________________

Hey! There are apparently some celebrities who pay hundreds of dollars to have the exact same materials in their workouts. I'm not kidding. _________________ "Hey! What's a seven letter word for hit television show beginning with A?" -- Genie |
