I suggest maybe keeping Rasoul and hiring a stronger defense system for agrabah and train these guys to handle out of the ordinary tactics like wizards, crazy inventors and evil incarnates. |
I would love to see wizard guards. That would be awesome.
I think they need more guards period; we always see the same four guys over and over again. I wonder how they ended up with so few. Did Jafar not hire many because he new he was going to try to take over? Is no one taking the responsibility to hire more guards now that there's no vizier? Is Rasoul supposed to be doing it, but he's refusing because he's too paranoid?
I wonder how they got rid of evil wizards and things before Aladdin showed up? I know a lot of them ended up following Al home, but some of them just showed up or got released by someone else. I would laugh if it turned out that Jafar was fighting them.
On the subject of Mechanikles, this might explain his absence. So that's why his episodes ended around the same time Mozenrath's began... _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Agrabah did had a lot of bad history. Anything magical that happened would be the "witches of the sand" but they disappeared thousands of years ago. jafar kept his magic under wraps from anybody's eyes to see except for the sultan but he too couldn't even remember any magic. It think it was until the genie was released that waken the trouble of people wanting to take over Agrabah.
Rasoul is loyal to the sultan and willing to put his life to him. He had been chasing Aladdin in the streets for a good while. They didn't have that much guards because, Aladdin was the "One man risen crime." I guess Agrabah was peaceful other than that except for the hypnotism in the palace. |

Well, I was wanting to post a list here of all the villains and monsters that had attacked Agrabah unprovoked and suggest that it had probably been the same way in the past, but now that I look over the episode list there really aren't that many. Most of them were either attracted there somehow by Aladdin and his friends, or else they were released by Abis Mal (which indirectly tracks back to Aladdin). The most serious randomly-attacking threat I can think of was Dominus Tusk, and he actually was defeated without Aladdin's help both times. Other than that, there are monsters like Murk's beast, and the giant worm from "Power to the Parrot", but they're relatively minor threats and could be beaten without magic.
So, it seems to me that if Al and Jas would just stop going out and provoking villains then they could get the attacks down to a level where the guards could handle it, but I don't expect that to happen anytime soon. _________________ "If only I could believe you. I happened to be thinking about some old ideas of mine and this thought came to me:
Wouldn't be great if all these villains attacked during Aladdin and Jasmine's honeymoon? They go away for a few days and you get this random crapstorm of villains moving in on the city. Abis, Mekanikles, Mirage, Mozenrath (though, desperate and gloveless, perhaps he sends Amin instead? ), people they've never even met before, just... this absurd amount of people trying to take advantage of it, fighting over each other to get to the palace, etc. Genie, Abu, the Guards, and I'm nominating Sadira have to fight all of these people and wonder when the heck it'll all end.
Aladdin and Jasmine come back right as the last enemy is vanquished and are pleased to see an undamaged city for a change! They greet their friends/the guards and are surprised to only get "yeah, great to see you guys, BED" in return.
It amuses me, anyway. _________________

Oh God |
*laughs* So, I guess Agrabah might be in some trouble then... Tho hiring wizard guards to deal with monsters and stuff sounds like a good idea.
VampireNaomi, where'd that bit about Mekanikles' death come from? *is curious*

Were there only four? I thought they showed a few more random ones then that a couple of times (I'm not good at recalling minor details about the show). And that comic is awesome -- it explains so much.

That's one of my all time favourite pieces of Aladdin fanart. I would have completely missed it during my on-going absence from the fandom if I didn't have a friend who keeps an eye open for Mechanikles stuff for me.
Brighteyes, the Mechanikles quote is from PrincessHikaru's fanfic site, which is here. _________________ "Now nothing will stand in the way of DOING THE DISHES!" |

Aladdin should never had ended (like Harry Potter or F.R.I.E.N.D.S. shouldn't ever have ended either) I'm not a kid anymore but I still love Aladdin like crazy (just btw what are the ages of ppl posting here? )
Some wishful thinking: The Sultan of Agrabah was forgiving so he used to let go Abis Mal every time but Sultan Pasta arrested him. Mozenrath became powerless without his gauntlet. Aladdin and his gang never accidentally released Ayam Aghoul from his netherworld. Mechanicles gave up after trying so many times. Aziz got destroyed by anger. Sadira learnt her lesson and realized Aladdin and Jasmine can never be separated. Nefir was arrested by Odiferous. As for Mirage, I cannot say what happened. I always felt she was more powerful and tragically evil than dear Mozzy.
I would have *loved* a 2-part episode that brought at least some of the powerful villains together! (like the Captain Planet series had one such episode)
I'm sure if Disney revives Aladdin, it'll be a massive success again. |

Actually, I'm pretty sure you'll find Abis Mal listed under the Agrabanian equivalent of the Darwin Awards.
Mirage is also quite busy with Mozenrath, who used the last of his power to hypnotize her into believing that she's his mother. The frequent baffs can be somewhat annoying, but the cheezburgers make it worth it.
Mechanicles was eaten by the al-Muddi after a commemorable attempt at cleaning them off the underside of the desert.
Sadira has taken up writing hack romance novels, which have garnered something of a cult following primarily made up of lonely young women. These novels are currently under investigation to determine whether they are, in fact, deliberately enchanted to turn girls into mindless zombies, or if Sadira just knows how to push the right buttons.
Saleen is one of these fangirls. Mostly, she reads the books because the hero is always about 5'6, well muscled, and shirtless.
As for the other villains, they mostly leave Aladdin alone because he now leaves them alone, being busy with other things now. _________________

There are other guards that we see in certain episodes, and there quite a few others in the first movie, KoT, and certain comics, but most of the time we only see the four whose names we know, even in situations where it would make sense that there would be more. For instance, "The Secret of Dagger Rock": Sultan sends the four named guards into the Land of the Black Sand to rescue Aladdin. Now if that were me, I would send quite a few more than that. Same again in "Wind Jackals": four guards and the Sultan marching even deeper into the LotBS to rescue Al and Jas. It doesn't make sense! _________________ "If only I could believe you. I don't about you, but I will go with PrincessHikaru's version of what happened to Mechanikles, simply because it's such a fitting end for him.
Quote: |
He was never in any fanfic of ours. This is because sometime between Aladdin and Jasmine's wedding, and our first story, the Greek was murdered. He was a good distance from Agrabah at the time, but still plotting his next move. While he was walking, somebody accidentally got dirt on his shoes.
Mechanicles, of course, was none too impressed, and let the stranger know it. The stranger was tired of hearing the little wimp's voice, so threw him into a mud puddle. Mechanicles continued to scream at the bigger man about getting him all dirty. The man turned and gave Mechanicles the option of shutting up or having his throat slit. Mechanicles continued to protest about the dirt, and the man should pay to have his tunic cleaned, so the man pulled out a knife and slashed the over-obsessed neat freak a few times.
Mechanicles' last words were, "Oh, dear! Blood stains are so hard to remove!" |
|
hahaha! I almost forgot about that! I love to write about him ticking off the wrong person with his rants and raves about dirt and getting it in the end and having his tunic soiled with blood. What can I say? I'm a bit twisted.

I'd take that as a jab at "Twilight". Not a fan, just noticing the parallels. _________________
