I guess it makes sense "I don't" would sound like "why don't". Thanks! Oh, by the way, anyone here speak French and have any clue what Genie thought Iago was saying?

I don't speak French, but I have a friend who might be able to help?

What part is it?

Right after they find out Genie can kind of hear them:

Quote:
Genie: Hey, I'm hearin' it again! That wailing soul thing.

Aladdin: Wailing soul thing?

Genie: You know. Voices from beyond. Spectres. Phantasms. Ghosts, Al!

Aladdin: (skeptical) Oh yeah? What're they saying?

Genie: (turns into a secretary) Okay, let me read it back to you. (back to normal) It says, "[something in French]". Apparantly they're French.

Sounds kind of like "revanan o no muton"; I know that's wrong, but something like that.

I'm working on Night of the Living Mud and I'm not entirely sure what he's saying

( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlQcfCbyN2M&feature=PlayList&p=DE93D5DC030C1F6C&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=46 @ 0:57)

Genie: Whoa, there! Need I remind you? This is Al's special night.

Iago: Well, how special will his night be when he finds our bones been _____!

(Cleaned? Plauged?)

"when he finds our bones picked clean?!" Laughing

*adds NotLM to the FAQ*

How fortunate is it that we all have trouble understanding different parts? Laughing

I knew it was something with clean, thanks Laughing

I just started last night on a whim, sorry about that!

It makes me wonder just how much of the series I haven't really registered mentally yet Laughing

Yeah, I agree with Calluna on the "picked clean" thing

And I messaged my friend the link to the French part, but she is travelling to Egypt, so I'm not sure how soon she will get it... I myself am near clueless with French.

You could just say, *Says something in French.* I don't think anyone would have a cow. Smile

That's what I'm going with for now. Eventually either some visitor will tell me what it says or I'll get a VCR hooked up so I can look at the captions.

Couple things, same section (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlQcfCbyN2M&feature=PlayList&p=DE93D5DC030C1F6C&index=46):

@ 4:27
1.
Genie: Heck no! But these hairline cracks! This _______ is starting to show its age!

(old jack? the name of whatever material they used to build the palace with?)

@ 5:13
2. I'm torn on this because I think it's "disease riddened", but I also think it could be "diseased, little" but Genie says "widdle" instead because the chef says the same line later on, but I don't know if he'd also use "widdle" even though that's what it sounds like. For the chef's part, it's at 5:53

3. Speaking of which, what the hell is his name? Laughing It's at at 6:25. I can't make out what Aladdin is saying. I think it might be "Abib" to keep with dining puns and all, but I really don't know. Abim? Abiv? Abmin?

But in other news, I learned two new words! 'Tepid' and 'potentate', w00t! Laughing

1. "old shack", 100% sure on that.

2. "disease riddled", 80% sure on that one. It's a strange way of putting it, but it makes sense. I also think that's what the chef was saying, but it sounds like "widdled" because of his accent.

3. I've always heard his name as Abin, but I guess it could be Abim. I prefer Abin though. Maybe he has some full name we don't know about that's a pun. Laughing

*Before looking at Calluna's*

1. "This old shack" definitely

2. "Disease-ridden" definitely

3. "Chef Abin" I think... I can't think of any puns to go with that, but that's what I heard. Maybe his last name is Cookin or something. Abin Cookin lol. I don't know. Smile

I've always heard "Abim" . I've been wrong on these matters in the past, however. Laughing

Abin does make for some punny goodness. "Abin Sauteein?" Laughing

Okay. Two one-syllable inaudibles.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6THqY7jG0Pw&feature=related

Around 3:30.

Quote:
Aziz: I've got the power of the world [???] The universe! It even blows my mind!

The whole quote. Is that right?

And one more... The very last quote of the episode:

Quote:
Iago: Soon I’ll be rolling in pearls, diamonds, rubies, and… (sees the chest is full of dates) dates? Dried dates? (flies around, reading all of the boxes in the room) Beans? Walnuts? Uh! [???] Ahh!! Rasoul!!!
