Oh, yeah, I played piano and viola for awhile, too. Tried chorus, but I hate my voice.
The funny thing is, I never did dance or theater... and now those two make up my whole job. _________________ I don't need intelligent drugs, because I don't know what they are. I was in chorus, played Clarinet in band, (I still pull the old thing out for a few bars of chaos ), and acted in a bunch of plays. Now I draw and...draw some more. I'm just a big visual and performing art nut |

They're hear to eat us non-Mozenrath fans. *Runs into a wall*
(Mostly) After school activites for me...
I did Girl Scouts for a while, but I hated that. Seeing "The Nutcracker" was my first memory of absolute hatred as a child... or that might have been Lefou. *Shrugs*
I did piano for a while, but I hated that. Though I did enjoy my teacher kicking me out whilst called me a "bitch". I was in 4th grade when he did that, lol.
I did chorus for a while, but I hated that. My music teacher had me sing a solo in 6th grade... I might be the worst singer alive. I'm like William Hung bad, and I got to sing a solo. *Shudders*
I did Spanish club, but I hated that. A mi no me gusta espanol. I don't even know if I said that right, lol.
I did violin for a while, but I hated that. I played for 6 years, and I sucked. Though I do thank it for getting me back onto the Disney train after a 2-year hiatus, so there you go.
... and that's it, lol. |
yep i believe you said it right _________________

I played the clarinet and the french horn in 5th and the rest of junior high but not anymore i grew tired od it *sighs* shame i was acctually pretty good to first chair in french horn *she says proudly* but alas no more now i play water polo which is probrably the best sport in the world. if you punch a girl and the ref dosnt see it it is legal and that lovley rule applies to anything else you might do to the opposing team it all ties back to AG's, Kirsten's and Aladdins rule of "your only in trouble if you get caught"

Hey, no booing flutes! I'm a professional flutist! (Insert joke here, here, and here, haha).
Sorry I keep coming around and resurrecting ooold topics... this website is not only addictive but a safe-house for those of us who reeeally don't want to be too old to obsess over Aladdin! (I made an Aladdin joke to my 12-year-old flute student the other day and she had no idea what I was talking about. Not only was it incredibly depressing, but it's the first time in my twenty-one years I've felt old...)
Anyway, getting back on topic...
I fully support the theory that Iago has a crush on Jasmine. I always thought that during "Eye of the Beholder" because it was just so out of the blue for Iago to freak out about (that said, it was probably just for plot purposes) but then I also noticed it in the episode where Abis Mal and Mechanicles team up (I think it was "The Flawed Couple") and put those mood stones on the gang. Iago falls in love with Jasmine. Although it was just because of the stone, I always liked to think it had been deep in his subconscious for a long time .
I also like the idea of Jasmine having a crush on Jafar as a little girl. He has a certain regal-ness about him. I couldn't really see her going for Rasoul, with the missing tooth and all, haha.
I really like the Jasmine/Mozenrath idea but I think it would have to be sneaky. If someone hasn't already done this in a fan-fic, I think it would be a great idea: Mozenrath tricking Jasmine by switching bodies with Aladdin (IE "Two to Tangle") and then marrying her or something. I mean she'd eventually figure it out and totally destroy him, but it would make a great fan-fic! I also like the Mozenrath-Sadira combo, because as street smart as Sadira is, she seems kind of naive and, from a psychological standpoint (I know, I'm a nerd) could be very vulnerable to someone as powerful as Mozenrath.
And although it's a bit anachronistic, couldn't you guys totally see Jafar and Mirage hooking up? They're both the same kind of evil. _________________ "I have no idea WHAT you're talking about. I'll be back when you're normal again." -Princess Jasmine.

To be honest I can't see her hooking up with anybody, but the "Lost Ones" episode where she tries to get Aladdin has per "personal manservant" made me raise an eyebrow.
Must be pretty lonely not having any sidekicks.
That said, Deviantart is filled with enough Mozenrath/Aladdin art that I don't think you can really call that "unconventional" anymore... |

Meh, ff.net is flooded with Jasmine or Aladdin/Jafar stuff, too, but this fandom is small enough that coming up with a pairing and getting a couple fans for it is going to be half way on the way to unconventional anyways. |

Jasmine x Jafar would be pretty depressing I imagine. Jafar it seems is the kind of the bureaucrat to marry purely for practical reasons. He'd have none of that Disney happily ever after nonsense. |

I can see this angle, but I always kind of thought Jafar still had a thing for Jasmine regardless - like from the fact that he wished, at the end of the first movie,"for Princess Jasmine to fall desperately in love" with him, despite the fact that he no longer needed her for any kind of power (as he was "the most powerful sorcerer in the world"). Although it could just be that he's physically attracted to her (I can't really imagine a sociopath like Jafar having real feelings of love) or it could be some kind of status thing ("look at me I have power and a hot princess!"), or adding insult to injury against the royal family ("I took over your throne and your daughter! Huzzah!"), or it could be simple malice and spite. _________________ "I have no idea WHAT you're talking about. I'll be back when you're normal again." -Princess Jasmine.

I can never really get past it in my own mind that he probably thought she was a complete pain in the ass, and wouldn't want anything to do with her past what he needs her for, and in the case of the movie, a faster way of getting to the throne to become sultan once that idea was planted in his head.
Once he got to that point and then some without her, everything after was a display of his unstoppable power and how she (or her father, really) can't do anything about it this time, his ability to force a very proud and headstrong person into submission when he's more than aware she doesn't like that and has been fighting against submitting to something or someone she doesn't want to the whole movie (which might have been where all that sexual frustration came from as a result. A fiery and independent person like Jasmine being basically your slave and doing whatever you want after so much resistance? Oh yeah, he'd be all for that. He likes that sort of thing ), and his dominance over her when he's now the one calling the shots and she's the one force to comply. Not that I can't ever see him being attracted to someone, but Jafar's dealings with Jasmine would be strictly business. Twisted business in some cases probably, but business. If anyone grew a soft spot for Jasmine in the palace, it was Iago
I've also entertained the notion that he was just ever so tipsy when he was talking to Jasmine and some of that was the alcohol talking (which I'm surprised no one has ever yelled at this movie for. Maybe they remembered the Caliphs had wine, too, when they shouldn't be since that's a big religious no-no . That might be reading more into the power thing, too). |
