Genie - No question there
Carpet - Can fly & has proven it's usefulness against evil on adventures in the episodes "Gettin' The Bugs Out" & "Love At First Sprite"
Iago - Arguably the smartest one out of the team. Knowledgeable about all spells & some (or all) known evils throughout the 7 deserts due to his time spent with Jafar.
Aladdin - No question here either
Jasmine - Althetic, can fight, and can be very clever at times.
Abu - An expert/master at picking locks & stealing stuff. His small size could also prove to be of great use in an adventure or mission. |

For me, it's hard to rank them because they all have something that contributes to the team as a whole that's gotten them out of a lot of tough spots. They're pretty valuable in their respects.
..well, except maybe Jasmine. Not that she isn't helpful or even useful (she makes sure the guys aren't being ridiculous ), but she has that royal order thing going on that never works. |

Interesting idea putting Iago above Aladdin. I wouldn't have thought of that on account of Iago being a coward and not having thumbs. It actually makes a lot of sense though. He's definitely the smartest guy there and his knowledge is useful.
Jasmine sort of seems like the "straight man" to me. |

For me:
1) Genie because he can basically do everything although he has a hard time focusing.
2) Aladdin because he's really well-rounded - he kind of reminds me of Pikachu from Super Smash Bros If Aladdin were a SSB character I would use him all the time. Aladdin is agile, a skilled fighter and can improvise well when fighting.
3) Iago after Aladdin because although he has a lot of knowledge, he doesn't have the willingness to go on adventures and is a big time scaredy cat...bird He's the kind of guy that gets picked last for gym class.
4) Jasmine - she can definitely fight but she's not as strong and has the tendency to get easily kidnapped often She gets many points from me on diplomatic missions, though. The guys don't know anything about diplomacy.
5) Abu - Really, what would Aladdin do without him?
6) I hate to put Carpet last because I love him better than any of the other guys but if they didn't have Carpet, I'm sure Genie could come up with ways to get everybody around. If we were doing a "who would you rather be friend with?" list, he would be way high up there! |

Well Genie would always be no.1 in terms of power and usefulness since he can do anything! But after him I'd day Aladdin because he is so resourceful and quick on his feet, then Jafar because he's determined enough to get things done no matter what it takes. Iago next because he's talented (less so than Jafar though because he's so WHINY lol). then Jasmine, I think she'd be as resourceful and skillful as aladdin but growing up sheltered in a palace would've made her at least a little bit pampered and unable to stand up for herself (as seen in the marketplace scene when she nearly got her hand cut off). Oh Carpet is pretty useful and skillful too- but he's a CARPET. being able to fly or not, that's kind of a drawback lol.
Great question! I had fun answering it |

I think Jasmine is more than able to stand up for herself. You can see that strongest probably when Jafar "apologizes" and when Jafar takes over, and she refuses to bow to him. Also when Aladdin is on the balcony trying to woo her, and she isn't interested.
I think the issue when she took the apple was more her naiiveness and her physical weakness. She didn't know what she did wrong, and there was no way she could escape that huge man's grasp. _________________
