Does it matter what age the actors would be portraying "Aladdin" or "Jasmine"?
No, I think if they look like the characters, that should be enough... though they should be close to the actual ages.

Yes, the characters should be teenagers around "Aladdin" and "Jasmine's" ages, even if they don't look "exactly" like the characters.

I was just stating that everyone tells you that it's not exactly "norma" to look like that when you're a teenager, and that we shouldn't strive for that look.

It's not normal for people too look like that, maybe in other countries, but the movie was made to inspire children in the United States... and we all know 4/5 of the children are overweight. I'm not saying it's impossible for girls to have big breasts... but Jasmine had a perfect body, and that's rare for any teenage girl that just turned 16.

Aladdin is hott... but not all guys look like that. It's a rare thing... there should be more "Aladdins" in the world... but it's so rare you're going to find an 18 year old who looks like that. Most guys that look like that are like 25 years old... not a teenager.

How is that relevant? I mean, I really don't see the point. Please, do explain this to me.

My 16-year old co-work is a size zero. And she's hardly the first 16 year old girl at that size that I've met.

Bull. In highschool, there were a bunch of 18 years olds who were ripped, some better than Aladdin. It was called the football team, the wrestling team, the baseball team, etc. Hell, we had a kid who was about as big as Sa'luk/Rasoul (This kid is like 6'5, 390, GIGANTIC kid). I mean, yeah, some teens are obese *Points to self* but not *all* of them.

Alright, I'm not going to argue about how many kids out there that have perfect bodies... that's not why I made the post.

I am in highschool too, and I know how teenagers look, and some of them are really good looking, but not alot of them... just some.

I'm talking about kids that are aroudn the age of 16 that are in show business that would be good for the parts of Aladdin and Jasmine.... or older actors/actresses for the other characters.

I'm sorry, I should have made myself clearer.

Jasmine's not supposed to be normal, though; she's supposed to be unusually beautiful. And, like all cartoon characters, she's exaggerated: in "real life" she wouldn't be that thin.

Miles Wesley, who was one of the original two lead Aladdins (they double-cast the show), did an amazing job. He's the one that's on the show's original cast CD. His singing voice sounds similar to Brad Kane's, and he looks a lot like Aladdin.

Do they still sell the original cast CD? I haven't seen him as Aladdin, and I can't find any pictures either Razz.

I think that Eddie Kaulukukui was a great Aladdin. He looks a lot like him and sounds like him, too.

The guy in this video also looks and sounds a lot like Aladdin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbZtHOxceSA

Besides people in the stage show, I think a younger John Stamos would have made a great Aladdin. Shaun Taylor-Corbitt from that kids show Hi-5 looks like him, too Smile

Oh, and whenever I see Francia Raisa

she reminds me of Jasmine. She's on that one show The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

All the people I named above are fairly good actors, and they look a lot like the characters. I think that it doesn't really matter how old they are ( as long as they're not like, 50 XD ) but how well they can act and how much they resemble the character they're portraying.

lol, oh he so had the Aladdin hair going on back then Laughing

Too true. It's quite obvious why Uncle Jesse makes such a big deal out of his hair. I never said anything to him, but my dad did resemble Aladdin in his hair. Unfortunately, my mom made him get a haircut. I don't know why guys practically shave their heads these days. I was pretty mad at her. 'Dad! What have done to your hair?!' 'Your mom said I had to get a haircut, and she wouldn't leave me alone.' 'He finally got a haircute. He looks so much better like this.' 'No, he doesn't!' I said I would pay him the same amount of money he paid the barber, if he wouldn't go to the barber. Laughing

I liked the episode where he was wearing Aladdin type clothes, too. I'm like, 'he looks quite a bit like Al, but I thought Scott wasn't supposed to show up until season 6?'
