In "Moonlight Madness", Iago talks about his cousin in Kentucky over a deep fryer but yet eats a fried chicken leg in, " Return of Malcho" ? What the heck is that all about?

Well, Iago is a parrot and not a chicken (unless you're talking figuratively Laughing), so it's probably just a bird/KFC joke in Moonlight Madness, and he probably wasn't thinking he was eating his own kind on Return of Malcho.

Birds who eat birds like a hawk. Its like eating your own kind of species. So in your plee for Iago it was an involuntary action without thinking kind of thing. lol

He's also got teeth, binocular vision, and the wrong number of toes. Iago's a weird parrot. Laughing

As to the original question, both parrots and chickens aren't the same species, they're two species in the same class. Humans are in the same class as all other mammals, so it's really no weirder than you or I eating a cow or a pig. But I do admit it looks creepy to see him eating a drumstick. Laughing

But, then, parrots in real life don't eat any kind of meat, so it's wrong in a different way. Wink

If you look at a picture of a real life parrot their eyes are on the sides of their heads; most herbivores have that so they can watch for predators. Iago's eyes are on the front of his face, like a human's. Real parrots have two toes pointing forward and two backwards, while Iago only has one pointing backwards.

I've been an Iago fan for a long time, so I wrote some papers about parrots back in middle school and know this stuff off the top of my head. Laughing

That's probably why Jafar bought him. He's a science experiment gone wrong, so he's special Laughing

He's also a species of parrot that doesn't live in the Middle East or even Africa. The "science experiment" reasoning sounds more plausible every day.

Or magic experiment. Maybe he was a person that was so annoying, a wizard turned him into a bird. (Not Jafar, since he seems to have already been a parrot when Jafar found him. Another wizard.)

Poor Gilbert Gottfried. He didn't have a chance. Laughing as in reference, "When Chaos comes a calling" yes he is also is a magical being because he knows of a reclining chair that vibrates.

He doesn't set off the magic detectors in "Wind Jackals", though...

He could have learned about vibrating chairs from Genie, or the Sultan might have a windup vibrating chair somewhere abouts.

I also wouldn't consider a parrot eating a chicken cannibalism, no more than I'd consider a human eating another mammal or a snake eating a lizard cannibalism.

The real problem is that birds have much lower morphological diversity than mammals: their basic body shape is very similar, as wildly differing shapes would be unable to fly. The only real weird birds are flightless ones, like ostriches and penguins. Mammals are a tad more flexible, and look quite different, so eating each other seems less cannibalistic.
